Assuming that a clonetrooper didn't get killed in combat, how long does a clone live? Is it a short amount of time considering the growth acceleration? What do they do with 'old' troopers? I'm assuming they outlive their usefulness faster than an unaltered human. Any thoughts?

With accelerated growth they'll eventually become too old to be effective anymore and begin to be phased out. The Empire will have the Academy to train legions of stormies, though, so there won't be a short supply of henchmen... :p

And by the way, love the username-- Darth Rex... ;)

So what do you think 'phased out' means? Do they ship them to the spice mines of Kessel? Do they just stop feeding them? Do they join the VCW - Veterans of Clone Wars?

Well they have about half the normal life-span of a normal human. So either they die in combat, or they die naturally at a young age. Those clonetroopers who survived the battles of the Clone Wars but aged too rapidly to continue to be useful resided at the CF Vet Center on Coruscant, a medical facility that served as kind of a retirement home.

I highly suggest Karen Traviss' Republic Commando: Hard Contact if you're interested further. ;)

THEORY: Some of their voices change in unnatural ways. Just see episodes IV, V, and VI. They also seem to get shot alot.

Just because a clone was accelerated to say the age of 25 when he was "hatched", there's nothing to say he can't go on to live another 70 years. Unless of course, these clones seem to suffer from the same fate of all SciFi clones due to accelerated aging, they rapicly decompose into goo after a set number of years, months, or days, depending on the programing.

It's been noted in the literature that clonetroopers only live half as long as the standard human. Since they are bred for combat and most will meet their fate on the battlefield, it is of little consequence. The CF Vet Center probably has a nice swimming pool if not.
