Ah... Jedi Knight... Now that brings back memories... As I recall the game also had a bunch of strange force powers (force destruction?)

I've heard Jedi Academy allows lots of different saber colours?

Yeah I have all three jedi knights and jedi academy does allow you to have every color except for red.

Personally, I think that now that Mace has Purple, that can be an official saber color. Anything that appears in the films is good to go. Though personally, when it comes time for my fanfilm, I'm getting an orange saber.

I wrote a purple saber into my script before Mace Windu had one. I was actually a little concerned that we were breaking canon, but canon fixed it in AOTC. :D

That being said, you've got to look at color theory for the lightsabers, I think. Red is an aggressive color, which inspires and symbolizes anger, even rage. They've done studies exposing people to hued rooms and whatnot (for lots of different colors), and the guys in the red rooms were more aggressive and had shorter tempers than someone in, say, a blue room.

I think it'd be hard to make it work for a Jedi to have a red saber.

Purple is a regal color, and fitting for a regal and/or respectable character. I also chose it because it is halfway between blue and red, and my Jedi master is in a bit of a transition period himself.

Green is a MORE aggressive color than blue, but in a "competitive" way as opposed to a vicious way.

RGB being the primary colors of light, I think it makes sense that they be the primary colors of lightsabers.

That makes sense but I guess when all is said and done, it's your movie and you can do what you like.

If the only criticism you get is that the saber colours aren't right, I am sure you could live with that :)

Just be sure they're rotoscoped real good, and not "painted on"

    blue: pure at heart

    green: rogue or hard headed

purple: gullable or has blind faith

    red: evil

    non-SW colors

    yellow: bold or head strong

    orange: courageous

    cyan: caring

    grey: wise

that is my take on it...

"I was actually a little concerned that we were breaking canon. . . ."

I've seen the term "canon" a couple times now in this topic. What is it?

"Aayla Secura (sp?) had a red light saber if I remember correctly" i think you might be reffering to "addie galliea" (i know i cant spell it) but i know the toy version had a red saber. but that was the TPM days were they screwed the toys over by giving mace a blue saber with lines in the hilt :)

Canon means official material. To some this means only the films, to others this could include all the novels, games, and other misc. materials published... They used to argue about how big the death star is, and there were contradictions within the cannon material...

Nowadays we just mean "stuff from the films"... For example canon saber colours mean the colours that were presented in the films...
