It was driving me nuts trying to figure out who Antares Draco was reminding me of.

Yeah, looks like a perfect choice.

Personally, I'd pick Famke Janssen as Lumiya, and leave Claudia Black for Ysanne Isard.

 

I always thought of Catherine Zeta Jones for Isard and Vannessa Marcil for Mirax.

 

Kate Beckingsale (underworld) as Lady Lumiya

 

I think Katie Holmes could be a good Jaina. Jeremy Irons and Pierce Brosnan would both be great Thrawn/Karrdes.

I'm shocked no one has mentioned Laurence Fishbourne yet for Kar Vastor. He would be perfect.

 

I dunno if it's been posted before, but the best actor for Corran Horn would still be Ryan Reynolds:

He's a bit too tall (1,89 meters tall, Corran is something around 1,60-1,70), but his facial features are just about equal.

 

In that case Zekk will have to jump on his X-wing shouting:

Yeah and then Zekk would shoot force lightning at Jacen out of pure happiness.

Those who have seen the clip know what I'm talking about...

 

Just looking at the current banner and Jacen (at that age at least, so during the NJO) looks a lot like whats his name? the guy that played Boone in Lost? Ian Somerhalder. I don't think he'd be very good for current Jacen though.

Ouch, this wounds me, because I love Shanks, but would be heartbroken to see him play Jacen. But he'd give quite a turn as a villian.

I realize this guy is an adult now but what if Ben Skywalker was played by that little kid that was on problem child back in the 90s! Great...now I'm going to picture him that way while reading the books.

Luke's hair . . . it's strange, yet compelling.

And my longtime mental image of Jacen is further confirmed . . .

Shanks plays villians pretty well. His alternate-future Daniel Jackson in one SG-1 episode ("Absolute Power" I believe) was pretty arrogant and controlling IIRC, kinda like Jacen.

(besides, I think the need for casting Luke is... ridiculous. You need an old Luke, take Hamill... you need a young Luke... take someone else. But neither the one Sauron18 proposed nor Caruso are "young"...)

 

i like Joe Flanigan as Jacen, but keep Luke as Mark...and Claudia is a tad young to be Lumiya.....the part might better be played by Kim Cattrall. She's old enough to be the character but is still sexy.

I do not want to see Luke played by that egomaniac. Luke would do nothing but strut around, thinking he looks so badass and is so unbelievably cool, constantly taking his sunglasses off, putting them back on, taking them off, putting them on, spouting incredibly bad "badass" oneliners and otherwise preening, convinced he is God's gift to Jedidom. Hell no.

Besides, he doesn't look like Luke.

 

Mhh... he's an actor. And he does look more like Luke than Callum Keith Rennie, you must admit. As an actor, he should be able to get into a non-badass role, too. In Kiss of Death, he was a rather different character than Horatio in CSI.

But, anyway, I think neither of them should ever play Luke, after all. Mark's Luke, and no one else.

How about Sharon Stone for Lumiya? I believe someoe said she's make a good NJO era Mara. And she's taken a turn or two as a villainess.

And now I've got this image of Richard Dean Anderson as Kyle Kararn circa LotF. Darn my SG-1 obsession.

 

Meh, the only ones I really gave any serious thought in my list had been Joe Flanigan and Claudia Black.

And yes, though CB is a bit too young for LotF Lumiya, a little makeup could solve the problem. It's just this thing I've had since "Betrayal", I can't get her accent out of my head...
