Obi Wan: Flying is for droids. I'm hit. Anakin?
Anakin: I see them. Buzz droids.
Obi Wan: Ar-four be careful you have a... Oh dear. They're shutting down all the controls!
Anakin: Move to the right so I can get a clear shot at them.
Obi Wan: The mission! Get to the command ship, get the chancellor! I'm running out of tricks here. In the name of! Hold your fire, you're not helping here!
    Anakin: I agree. Bad idea.
Obi Wan: I can't see a thing. My cockpits fogging. They're all over me! Anakin!
    Anakin: Move to the right
Obi Wan: Hold on Anakin, you're gonna get us both killed! Get out of here! There's nothing more you can do.
Anakin: I'm not leaving without you, Master. Get him, Artoo.... Watch out.
Obi Wan: Artoo, hit the buzz droid's center eye.
    Anakin: Yeah, you got him!
    Obi Wan: Great, Artoo.

^ I love when Obi Wan gets all worried about things.

Obi Wan: The chancellors signal is coming from right there. The observation platform at the top of that spire.
    Anakin: I sense Count Dooku.
Obi Wan: I sense a trap.
    Anakin: Next move?
    Obi Wan: Spring the trap.
Anakin: Artoo go back. I need you to stay with the ship.
Obi Wan: Here, take this. Wait for orders.

^ Love when Obi Wan says " Sring the trap." Because it sounds like Ewan, not Obi Wan.

Battle droid: Those are jedi fighters alright..
    cracks me up every time[face_laugh]

Obi Wan: Did you press the stop button?
    Anakin: No, did you?
    Obi Wan: No.
Anakin: Well there's more than one way out of here.
Obi Wan: We don't want to get out , we want to get moving. Artoo, elevator 3174. Comin in , Artoo.
    Battle Droid: What's that?
Obi Wan: Artoo, do you copy?! Activate the elevator number 3174.
Battle Droid 2: Get back to work. That nothin'.
Obi Wan: Artoo- * steps back as a peice of the elevator falls down and anakin climbs up.Sighs* Always on the move... Artoo, can you hear me? Artoo- Woah!! Artoo!! Artoo!! Artoo!!! * gets up after having falled down in the elevator.* Stop, stop. Artoo we need to be going up.

It's histerical how George decided he was gonna make the droids funny. I love 'em.

Droid: Uh, oh.... ( Anakin backflips and springs off the wall onto the elevator and jumps inside.)

Obi Wan: *activates light sabre.* Oh it's you. * deactivates light sabre.*
Anakin: What was that all about?
Obi Wan: Well, artoo, has been-
    Anakin: No loose wire jokes.
Obi Wan: Did I say anything.
    Anakin: He's trying.
Obi Wan: I didn't say anything!

Its so funny how Obi Wan gets all defensive. " I didn't say anything!"

Anakin: Ahhh..... * The elevator shaft becomes vertical again and Palpatine and Anakin start to slide.Palpatine grabs Anakin's leg and Obi Wan is still unconsious on Anakin's back.Anakin grabs onto some cables and they stop sliding.Obi Wan wakes up.*
    Obi Wan: wooa..oh..
Anakin: East, we're in a bit of a situation here..
Obi Wan: Did I miss something?
Anakin: Hold on. * They see the elevator start to come towards them.*
    Obi Wan:What is that?
Anakin: Uh...whoops..Artoo, artoo shut down the elevator.
Obi Wan: Too late, jump! *They start to slide down the elevator shaft just in front of the speeding elevator coming towards them.* Blast! * They swing into a hallway* Lets see if we can find something in the hanger bay that's still flyable.
Anakin: Artoo, get down here. Artoo, do you copy?

I love how Obi Wan is all like .. what's goin on... lol.

When Anakin does the seperatists massacre and he's walking to the other room and he puts his lightsabre behind him and a laser bounces off and hits the Battle Droid.(That was so cool) Then, he turns around and you can see his orange eyes and you can see that he's turned full SITH! AWESOME SCENE!

    My favorites have to be...

1)The Intro with the drums and two Starfighters flying down from peaceful area of space to chaotic battle

2)The scene where Obi-Wan says,"Anakin is the father isn't he, I am so sorry" To me that was powerful.

3)Yoda losing his robe as he falls to the floor of the senate room. I thought that was a nice touch.

That drum beat music after the Pan Down was superb! The way everything is peaceful and you see the distant sun glinting off Coruscant, then you hear the drum beat (war beat) and you pan over to the battle is wonderful. Theres something about the music and imagery that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

I don't know if this is a "little, under-apreciated" moment, because I can't imagine anyone NOT noticing this, but here goes:

During the Jedi Massacre montage, I was really taken aback by the beauty of the planet that Aayla Secura was killed on. It made a really bittersweet moment, having such a grisly murder happen in such a heavenly place (of course, the way the choir swells in the music helps a lot too).

Anyone one else notice the subtle ways the music follows some of these scenes?

Ah yes, the music and imagery are perfect during the Jedi Slaughter. My favorite moment, actually, is right at the end of the montage, when he move to Anakin in the Jedi and the music becomes very peaceful before rising up and then cutting off abruptly as Anakin ignites his lightsaber and the kid steps backwards and we cut away to Padme. Such a shocking moment.

Then I love how the music swells again when we cut from Padme to Bail Organa flying to the Jedi Temple after seeing it in flames - I got a big lump in my throat the first time I saw ROTS, at this moment.

I loved when Odd Ball said, "Lock S-foils in attack position."
The Battle of Yavin was one of my favoriye parts in the OT, and this juts brought it home for me, plus, his helmet is marked similar to Red Leader's.

For me, it's when Obi-Wan uses a blaster. It truly marks the end of the civilized age. Untli then, no Jedi on screen had used a blaster. The troopers were now against the Jedi and the Jedi were enemies of the Republic.

    Too true. Too true.

I know it's likely not underappreciated because every SW fan had longed to see Alderaan, but when we actually see Alderaan beneath the clouds, I was just blown away. It was only a few seconds but it showed a pristine world and one which hints at the even greater galactic loss suffered in ANH.

Not seeing it in Episode III would have been a mistake. Now we know what was lost and destroyed. It was essentially utopia.

    >>>For me, it's when Obi-Wan uses a blaster. It truly marks the end of the civilized age.<<<

Y'know, I never thought of it that way. Very good point, Sapes.

The moment I particularly love was and is probably considered an odd one by most. I love the spidery retreat of Palpatine when Mace has him down in the office.

For me, this moment conveys so much. Evil, finally, is cowardly, pathetic, and small. (And anyone who cares to try and start me on one of those "It was to lure Anakin" debates will have their arguments fall on deaf ears; I think you're missing the point entirely.) Darth Vader is an arrogant dupe and the Emperor is an opportunist--that's it. Not all-time, super-duper badasses.

I'm very glad GL (or maybe it was Ian who invented this moment and GL signed off) decided to not go down that particular, very-obvious fan-pleasing road, and explode his incarnations of screen villainy.

Are you saying that Mace is to blame for Anakin's slide into darkness? And that he deserved to die? I hope not.

Interesting. Not too dissimilar from Grievous' spidery retreat to his wheel bike on Utapau. A cowardly move from someone in fear.

When Anakin does the seperatists massacre and he's walking to the other room and he puts his lightsabre behind him and a laser bounces off and hits the Battle Droid.

I like that, but for another reason.
Starting with TPM, the droids were something of a threat. They invaded Theed, the fought the gungans, they surrounded the Jedi in the arena, they were the enemies in the clone wars. The Jedi were always flashy and glorious in dealing with them. Sweeping moves, good action pieces.
    That was before.
By this point, the Jedi are destroyed, the clones have turned, the Sith have taken over, the Chosen One has fallen to the darkside, everything good is dying. Then we get this brief little moment, where a battle droid goes to attack a 'Jedi'. Before the Hell came, this was something. Now, it's just an insignicant nothing. Anakin just tosses back his saber and it's done. No more fun. No more adventure.

I get that feeling with Nute's death too. For all the drama and excitement, the PT was played up often like a fun serial, and Nute was very often the recurring bad guy who'd always escape to pester our heroes 'one last time'. Halfway through RotS everything changes. It's not fun. And the fun serial saturday morning villain is ruthlessly cut down.
Seeing that really caught me off guard. I've said it often enough. Seeing it was unsettling as seeing:
    Leonardo cut down the Shredder.
GI=Joe execute Cobra Commander in cold blood.
Optimus Prime being beaten to death (or whatever you'd call it) Megatron
    He-Man gutting Skeletor.
Yeah, you want the good guys to win and finally defeat the bad guys. But not like that... Not just butchered as they beg for mercy from the hero...

That's why RotS works. Without light and fun, the darkness is just same ol' same ol' status quo.

    Great post Wascally! =D=

Your right, ROTS DOES change totally when Mace goes out of the window - Well actually it's the Ruminations scene, I think, that takes ROTS to another level and it kind of becomes a differant version of Star Wars altogether.

And your right also, about how it was impostant to have the fun and adventure of the Prequels, to really understand and appreciate just how dark that final hour of ROTS actually is.

Actually, one little detail I appreciate about the Jedi Temple slaughter is how little of it we actually see. Just shots here and there. But it leaves it to our imagination. We get a few amazing images (Anakin marching with the Troops, the Temple in flames, "Master Skywalker, there are too many of them, what are we going to do?", hologram that Obi-Wan watches), but mostly, we just imagine the horror of Anakin slaughter Jedi with the help of the clones, and killing the younglings. Brilliant storytelling, and a definite contrast to most action films where they show ALL of the killing and brutality.

^I liked that to in that it left a lot to imagination.
I always thought some 501st trooper would still side with the Jedi and get cut down defending the Knights of the Old Republic.
Call it unreasonable, but in the new Vader book by Luceno, a Clone Commando disobeys Order 66, so you never know.

I can't believe I forgot to add the last scene with Lars looking at the suns setting. Then taking Luke over and doing the same. It caught me by surprise and I don't know why but that was the perfect tie in between the two trilogies. I'm not exactly sure why but I can't think of a better ending.

How in the end, Leia is shown with her eyes wide open; aware, seemingly,of what's going on around her, while Luke's are closed. He's sleeping, oblivious to what's going on around him. It foreshadows exactly how we find them at the start of Episode IV.

How about the sound of the Walkers' steps in the background of this scene? That was almost creepy.
