They are friends, not enemies, but if they fight each other who would win?

    [image=http://www.gamebgs.com/files/images/mkwallpaper26mt.preview.jpeg] VS [image=http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/51/LiuKangMKSM.jpg/449px-LiuKangMKSM.jpg]

    FIGHT!!!

Kung Lao. That hat is awesome.

And anyway, isn't Liu Kang dead as of MKV, whereas Kung Lao is still alive?

Kung Lao is cooler, has better fatalities and could beat Liu Kang. I think he was also a master before Liu Kang as well, if I'm not mistaken.

That's Johnny Cage, not Kung Lao. My opinion still stands. [face_talk_hand]

The Kung Lao in the games is not the Kung Lao who was the MK Champion before Goro and Liu Kang.

The Kung Lao in the games was never an MK champion, just a sort of rival of Liu Kang's for that title (though in essence he was Liu Kang's ally by necessity and association).

Liu Kang is the actual descendant of the Great Kung Lao (the champion before Goro).

Despite the new Kung Lao's badass coolness (did anybody see the opening scene for Shaolin Monks?), Liu Kang is the better fighter story-wise and would definitely win.

Kang is also currently dead, but not through any failure of his skills. He was decieved on his own training grounds. Someone who looked like Kung Lao turned out to be Shang Tsung. Tsung fought Kang and was getting his ass whupped, and then Quan Chi (the other half of the Deadly Alliance) showed up to attack Kang from behind.

Kang was overwhelmed and killed by their treachery and lack of honor. He is, however, available as a dead character in Deception and will probably be featured as such in the upcoming game.

Liu Kang owns him. When it comes to official MK storyline battles, Kung Lao has been owned by people that Liu has torn through.

Unofficialy, the awesomeness of Kung's hat makes Liu his *****.

One thing about Kung Lao's hat that I don't get...
It's got a bladed brim, which is deadly when thrown, that part's clear.. but the bit where it loses me, is the fact that in order to throw said hat, one has to grab onto the deadly sharp brim. Okay, so it's a video game, but this ill-conceived weapon has got me thinking that...

It's gotta be Liu Kang all the way.;)

    o_O

It'd be sad if you didn't.

And whoever said you HAD to touch the razor edging of Kung Lao's hat in order to throw it? And even if you did, that doesn't necessarily mean you'd cut yourself, anyway.

Umm, isn't that what he does in the game?

Okay, so he's got magic hands then... Kung Lao wins.

Personally, I'm not too convinced with the wisdom in grabbing the pointy/sharp bits of any weapon.

    *MK Trivia*

The character that became Johnny Cage was originally supposed to be Jean-Claude Van Damme in the game. However, Van Damme was too busy making his *wonderful masterpiece films*, so they made up a ficticious actor to fill the role.

Van Damme went on to Video Game *Glory* by starring in Street Fighter: The Movie.

Not the first time Van Damme made a stupid decision---he was originally cast as the Predator, but walked out on production because he was uncomfortable wearing the suit.
Afterwards, Stan Winston redesigned the suit into the lovable Yautjan warrior we know today....and Kevin Peter Hall went into cult cinema history by playing Predator in both movies. (sadly, Mr. Hall contracted AIDS through a blood transfusion and passed not long after Predator 2 hit theatres)

BTW---The man who screams "TOASTY" has a name---Dan Forden, sound designer for MKII. He programmed the sound fx as well as composed all of MKII's music.

Heh... Mortal Kombat. Tried that a long time ago on the PC (MK-II it was, me thinks). Pretty gruesome. Working the keyboard that is ;)

Anyway, no one is a match for Christie. She's got some great assets...
