    You sound like a newscaster.

I was a crazy person when the awards were on. I was so glad when these won, because they deserve it so much.

Well, I think "Into the West" is pretty boring. *retreats*

    But the score is awesome...yay.

Into The West is great. Better than (well, more like just a different tone than) Gollum's Song. But it's leagues above May It Be. I have just never enjoyed that song.

I like "May It Be". I love "In Dreams".

But for the end credits songs, I like "Gollum's Song" and "Into The West" better. My first instinct is to say I like "Gollum's Song" best. But "Into The West" has really grown on me, probably the most of any track on ROTK. Annie Lennox is superb. (Though I still picture her with orange hair and cows in the background. :p)

But yeah, such a different tone for the end of ROTK. As it should be. :)

Gollum's Song is my favorite of all the LOTR songs. It has a beautifully melancholy melody and the lyrics are the best of the three songs. Plus I enjoy Emiliana Torrini's haunting voice over Enya's somewhat bland vocals and Lennox's (at times) overbearing sound.

All three songs have their merits, however, but I would rate them from best to worst: Gollum's Song, Into The West, and May It Be.

It's tough for me to rank the end credits songs. I like them all quite a bit. However, In Dreams will always be my favorite! After that is probably Gollum's Song. I'm not sure whether I like May It Be or Into the West more... though I guess I'll go with Into the West.

But In Dreams still reigns supreme!

Ah yes, I've forgotten all about "In Dreams."

That one is quite good. The kid's got a great voice too (though, considering my voice, that's not saying much).

I've forgotten, does "In Dreams" play during the end credits of FOTR?

That is my favorite "song" from LOTR (from my favorite track).

No, it doesn't really play. There are no lyrics to it in the actual movie- just the choir humming the tune before May It Be comes in.

"The kid's got a great voice"

How old was he, when he recorded it? 9? 11? something?
That was when? Sometime in 2001? Hmmm.... puberty might ruin his voice next year or so. Happened to me, happens to almost everybody. Poor kid. Such a wonderful voice. At least we have it on CD and DVD.

Yes, DVD, because "In Dreams" is in the movie (both theatrical and extended). In the movie the songs just aren't in the same order as on the CD. First May It Be, then In Dreams. You need to watch all the credits, my friend(s) ;)

Yes, General, make a poll with all the songs.
Which would be? Aniron, In Dreams, May It Be, Gollum's Song, Into the West.... do Pippin's and Aragorn's songs count, too?

I've tried to make a one disc compilation like that but I am never satisfied because there are so many tracks I want to include and some of my favorites always have to be sacrificed. It's pretty frustrating.

Well I saw ROTK again today. 4th time... prolly the last time in theatres. I was struck again by two things. Number one, what an INCREDIBLE score. Simply the best of the three LOTR scores. It's so wonderful. Number two, how MUCH the CD is edited. There are tracks that are taken from like 6 places in the film! How stupid. I wish they'd hurry up and release extended editions of all the scores.

As much as the CD album is edited and lacking in many great cues, I think it flows wonderfully and paints a very good picture of the music for the film. ROTK is the best of the three album releases, IMO.
