Anyone know anything about this guy? Where is his story?

And was he born with that name? Can you imagine how awkward it would be at school growing up? Talk about your burdens. No wonder he grew up evil, with a name like that.

The Dark Empire Sourcebook is the only originating source material, which the Essential Chronology later picked up on.

The extent of his story is a few short paragraphs alluding that the fight against him was horrible in its brutality, with Imperials fighting to the last man, to the death, sickening Luke Skywalker to the point of resigning his military commission.

I do agree with you. He was probably picked on by his friends growing up.

Ederlatth Palopides and Burr Neyolds were probably the harshest on him for such a ridiculous name.

Was he a loyal Imperial or a Warlord? His name makes him sound like a Warlord, especially the Lord part. Was the Lord title a common one in the empire?

    Wes, yeah it was.

Lord Tion. Lord Torben. Lord Vader. There's a few of them running around. And they had very real power within the Empire.

If memory serves, Shadowspawn's territory consisted of a good chunk of the Inner Rim. I believe that this campaign to liberate it by General Skywalker was the precursor to the massive invasion of the Core by Admiral Ackbar.

This guy sounds like another one of those wannabe Sith Lords who just can't make the cut.

I would have thought the first mention of Shadowspawn came from the appendices in the first and second publications of the DE TPB. I've heard it said a lot of what appears in the DE Sourcebook came from the appendices in the TPB. Since I only have the sourcebook, I can't confirm this.

However, it seems there is more in the EC than there is in the DE sourcebook about Lord Shadowspawn. If I recall correctly, it merely says in the sourcebook that the forces of Lord Shadowspawn fought to the last man. Just a single sentence and a passing refernce to Shadowspawn. the EC, if I remeber correctly, has a paragraph on Luke's campaign against Shadowspawn.

That's true, it described the conflict as being a bloodbath. It'd be great to see this fleshed out!

That's a childish sounding immature name just begging to mocked! :D

Shadowspawn? It's an eggcellent appeal for younger readers. :D

Shadowspawn. Does that imply something about his parentage?

Whatever happened to him, anyways? I don't think he was officialy killed.

Yeah the name makes me think...salmon. He was obvioulsy a sinister Herglic who dressed as a Mon Calamari, with a $29.99 "Become a Sith and a Moff in just 10 Days" package. Yeah thats got to be it.

If anyone ever gets the opportunity, ask Halagad_Venter (a VIP who sometimes visits these boards) about Lord Shadowspawn. Halagad has done an extensive amount of work and research on Lord Shadowspawn and "might" be able to share more info about this obscure Imperial.

    Best,

    Ana V

I actually liked the Black Hole - Lord Shadowspawn connection. Well, at least far better than what Black Hole actually ended up becoming, IMO.

Maybe that is his real name? (changed by Palps to avoid embrassment to the Empire.)
