Ok... dunno if this is helpful...

Here is a timeline of Jack and Desmond

Year 0: Jack meets Sarah and Desmond. Desmond is seen training in LA.
2 years later: Jack and Sarah marry

Year X: Crash on the Island
2 years before: Desmond starts on his race around the world.

I'm feeling we need one more date to fill us in perfectly...

Also, I have mixed reactions to Mr. Eko.

    First, I like him

Then, [hl=black]when Jin sees the guy with a dagger through his chest, Eko makes a look. I have a feeling Eko killed the man. Not sure... I just don't trust the way he nods.[/hl]

Am I thinking too much into it?

Well, Libby does tell Michael that the group has trust issues. Perhaps they had their own "Ethan".

Mestareko (sp?) is my new favorite. Very badass--kind of like Locke without the crazy neo-zen attitude.

I wish there wasn't so many spoilers because I'm really tempted to read them.

Its funny, because with most shows I avoid spoilers like the plague, yet I cant seen to get enough of them when it comes to Lost.

When I saw the bear, it reminded me of the "Following the leader!" scene in Disney's Peter Pan.

    "You seem suited for it."

(I know this has already been answered, but I felt like answering it anyway)

Remember earlier in the episode...when Michael put his hand on Jin's shoulder and said "You will see Sun again."? I believe that that is what Jin said to Michael. He put his hand on his shoulder, and said "You will see Walt again." Michael understood what he was tryin' to convey, and decided to go back with them.

I found this to be odd, too...and it could be elaborated upon later. Seemed rather random. Within Kate's character, sure...but kinda random. Hmm.

Yep, you have been (I'd replace the "we" with "I," as I'm sure there were many that were perfectly fine that this episode didn't end with an "awesome cliff-hanger ending." ;) ). This episode was slow-paced and more character-driven...and it was fantastic. Not every episode needs to be loud, intense and end with an earth-shattering cliff-hanger. Slow and quiet character-driven episodes are good, too...and a nice change of pace. I really dug it. I loved Locke's little speech to Sun about losing and finding things...and the acting by the actress who portrays Sun when she finds her wedding ring was fantastic. Great stuff.

The ever-developing friendship between Michael and Jin is also nice to watch...especially after seeing how they started. You can see it in Jin's eyes...he'd give his life to save Michael (and possibly Walt, too). You can see it. And Michael referring to Jin as his friend? Too cool.

I also love the character of "Mister Echo." That dude rocks. He's actually a far cry from what we saw of him initially...when he was beating Sawyer's face in with a club. He's actually quite soft-spoken and intelligent. I agree with the person in the thread that said that he's a lot like Locke. I couldn't agree more.

EDIT: Sawyer referrin' to Jin as "Chewie" again was also great. [face_laugh]

ANOTHER EDIT: Hurley and Sun waiting for Vincent to drop a loaf, with the hope that her ring was inside, was also priceless. The look on Hurley's face when he said his dog crapped a dollar and thirty-five cents in nickels was hilarious. [face_laugh]

I realize that. I was only saying that even in the slower character driven episodes, there was a sense of urgency. I was just kind of disappointed because this episode seemed to be a take it or leave it one.

Leonard : I agree, I really like how loyal and protective Jin is toward Michael. I think that Michael accepted his friendship long ago and ever since being stuck on the raft he's finally admitted that Sawyer is his friend, too.

Speaking of Jin, the nickname Chewie definitely is appropraite when you think about it. Besides being fiercely loyal and protective towards Michael when it comes to the tailies, he also cannot be understood by any of them but Michael (and Sawyer, too, at least somewhat).

I don't know, man, I seemed to feel a sense of urgency involving the hikers and the Others/finding Michael...but that's just me. It may not have been "super-duper-crap-in-your-pants" urgent...but there was some urgency there.

And the crazy part is, they used to absolutely despise each other. Hell, Jin still has the other half of the handcuffs on his left wrist! I think this friendship is the perfect example of two people that may never, ever talk to each other in real life...but were able to look past their differences to find a mutual respect and friendship for each other. The guys who make the show say that this is a central theme of the show in the DVD commentaries...and it's perfectly portrayed within this friendship.

Well, wasn't it Sawyer that referred to Jin and Michael as his friends when he was in the pit...and Mike said "So, we're friends now?"

Michael also said that he's not friends with the "redneck."

However, I think he considers Sawyer to be his friend...but he's not too hasty to admit it out loud. ;)

I completely agree. Unfortunately, he's learning too much English...and Sawyer may not be able to call him that anymore. :(

I hope he continues to, though...despite how much English Jin learns. It's a great nickname.
