I actually sort of feel bad for Ben but not totally. It was sad that his father mistreated him and forgot (probably on purpose) his birthday every year. I wonder what happened to Annie. Did she get killed too? How can Richard still look so young after all this time? I don't know why Roger (Workman) didn't open the van door. Also, how do you gas people in an open environment? And why shoot Locke? Will Jacob save him? Has Ben ever really heard Jacob since he didn't hear Jacob when Locke did? Is Jacob the smoke monster? After all the smoke monster can assume human shapes (it became Yemi). So many questions! And is Charlie really going to die next time? Man! It is getting very exciting.

Interesting questions, DH. (Now that's exactly what this threads about, right?) I will be really ticked off if Charlie &/or Locke die. They are two of my favorite characters.

You just confused me more than last episode.

I'm curious as to why the "original inhabitants" and everyone else didnt get along. I mean its a big island.

Also gas works in open areas, depends on the type of gas. Gas as a weapon was originally intended to be used on the battle field.

    from Entertainment Weekly:

    ----------

''For the longest time, my roommate's been saying that Ben is essentially based on Emperor Palpatine [from the Star Wars movies] and that Locke is based on Anakin Skywalker. Personally, I've always asserted that Locke is Luke Skywalker, not Anakin. After ''The Brig'' episode, I thought the argument had been solved. To me, the scene in which Ben tells Locke to kill his dad was the third act of Return of the Jedi. In fact, I was just waiting to hear Ben say, ''Fulfill your destiny,'' or, ''Your hate has made you powerful.'' Thus, I was wondering, what are your thoughts? Is John Locke a tragic hero like Anakin or is he the official hero like Luke? Or, is there any way to really know at this point, given the fact that [the producers] keep tossing us plot twists like hand grenades?''

Comment on JV's last post: Wow, I've been noticing how much alike the actors playing Ben and Palpatine looked.

I think any comparison with Lost and Star Wars is irrelevant as both stories are neither completely original but classic examples of good vs evil, and any similarities between the two simple coincidence.

I think almost any story can be linked back to Star Wars because there are always stories about good vs evil, tragic heroes etc.

No one has come back from a gun shot. I think Locke's only hope is if Jacob is able to heal him somehow.

I had also heard that five people are going to die but at least one or two already have so I don't know if Locke's going to be one or if Charlie's finally going to die or if Desmond will die for him.

Well, I hope that goes for Charlie, too. He's one of my favorites. I was also sorry to see Tom killed. He's one of my favorite 'Others.' But, better him than Said and Jun.For once a TV show actually fooled me. I did not suspect the true nature of the 'flashback' until the very end.

That was a very disquieting season finale, and not just because it was a cliff hanger!

whose obituary was Jack reading at the very end? Who died?

We assume "he" was Sawyer? (Kates BF)

I was wondering about that, too. Maybe Locke. That would explain nobody showing up, Kate's reaction, and Jack's answer when the funeral director asked if it was "friend or family?" I wonder if we'll even find out next season.

Maybe it's Ben. The season finale was very sad. I felt bad for Jack. He wasn't able to get his life back together after leaving the island and is addicted to pain killers. It looked like Kate was okay, My guess is she married Sawyer, unless he married that other woman, don't remember her name. I'd like to think that if it were Locke that most of the people would have shown up. I don't think Charlie is getting a pass on dying. What will it take to kill Mikhail? I really need him to die. I wonder if Jack beating up Ben was like in the JLA when Superman killed Lex and turned bad.

The reason I think it may have been Locke is because the season finale left many people with the perception that he had betrayed his friends. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Ben, I don't think he would leave the island and will probably insist on being buried there.

I was thinking it was Michael's.

Also when I was watching a documentry called "Shakesphere Behind Bars" the shakesphere play they were performing sounded an awful lot like the basic story of Lost. I cant remember the name of the play now though!

Anybody got the lost game for the IPOD? pretty neat little game.
