Lost: Season 3 (spoilers)

It's the episode 6 "mini finale" this week. So we're 42 minutes away from another painful few months of waiting for it to return.

Looks like it could be quite interesting, and i'm hoping for a shocking cliffhanger ending to leave us like , which the end of season 2 definately had with the whole purple light and Portuguese guys ending.

Looks like Sawyer could be killed, but I don't think he will somehow, because Mr Eko's only just been booted off, plus Sawyer is surely too popular a character to kill of. Lost would be...well, Lost without him

 

From the looks of things Sawyer, Jack and KAte seem to be untouchable ATM due to being with the "others"

If you've seen the promo for tonights episode, you'll know that Sawyer, Kate and Jack are most definitely at risk of getting killed. I swear to God, if they kill Sawyer...

It starts on Sky One soon doesnt it, so Sky get the six episodes and then may start back up again when America does

Jack has turned out to be a real badass

 

Jack's gone up in my estimation after last nights episode. Before then he was a bit of a drip, wouldn't do anything particularly 'bad', However, I like him threatening to kill Benry. Definitely makes him more interesting. It's been the first episode where I haven't wanted to punch him very hard.

Absolutely ecstatic that Kate decided to bonk Sawyer. They're much more suited to each other than Kate is to Jack. However, it was made clear to mein this episode that Kate has strong feelings for Jack. Bugger.

Also, woulda thought that Nathan Fillion would've started to become just a little bit wary of hot women and them offering him things...

 

Good episode, but I was expecting more of a cliffhanger than that.

 

I've heard rumours that Claire is Jacks half-sister

 

Yeah i've heard alot of that too, and I think we're supposed to find out if it's true in episode 12.

 

Wow episode 12 thats quite away off, so what do people think of the rumour I think its interesting

 

Episode 12 isn't too far off, it's only a week and a half if you're a downloader.

I think it's a cool rumour. I've heard many fans going on about it in the past and I always thought they were just dreaming, but it looks like it may be true now, especially seeing as Jack's father is guest starring in that episode.

Did ya notice that song Hurley was listening to as a kid when his dad left him and his mum was the same song that started playing supposedly on the camper van 8-track cartridge (yup- that's what's in the van to show its age to the early 80's- though could have been a 4 track but I guess we'll never unless we get an idea of the year)when they got it going?

And did anyone notice Charlie trying not to laugh when Sawyer called him 'munchkin' (even Desomnd's face looks a bit like 'what do I do here?') and 'Jimny Cricket' (he prounounces it as Jimney though we all know he's just playing on the name Jimmy) at two separate stages in the episode? Either they were left in to give it a comedy like, relaxed feel as possibly the Sawyer actor ad-libbed these parts or just good acting. Personally it looks ad-libbed to me as Charlie really tries to hold in a laugh- especially at the 'Jimney Cricket' comment and the directors left it in as it really is funny. THOUGH- even the bit were Hurley calls him redneck man just before might be ad-libbed as even Sawyer is nearly laughing when he says the Jimny Cricket line. Just Sawyer classics! A bit like the Janitor in Scrubs who ad-libs loads. Just my one pence worth. I can't afford two pence.

 

Right- it's probably best to to use this thread as some are letting too many spoilers out in the none spoiler thread! Plus we dont need to highlight anything out.

Right the smoke was back again. This time it flashed a few lights at Juliette. No idea why. I wonder if it can some how see your past or search yer 'soul'? Though thats probably too deep. So it makes loud thudding noises as it goes through the forest wrecking trees and it appears to not to be able to go over the perimeter force shield plus didnt it nearly pull Locke (I think it was him) underground for what reason? I'm wondering if it is in fact a grounded type of vehicle BUT hidden in the same way the island appears to be hidden. They have found a way to bend light to hide it but the smoke is the only thing they cant hide from the machine? It should have been able to just go over the barrier if it was just smoke. And who owns it? Then again this idea sound ridiculous too lol! Juliette first acted like she didnt know what is was and then admitted they use the barrier to keep it out- is she still telling the full truth? Did it see her and know to leave them alone?? Or ya think it was thrown in the first episode of Lost without any thought or reason to it? Just to add suspense to the island? Like the early episodes where Jacks dad appeared to him a few times for no reason and then never again. Or the voices that were heard sometimes while walking through the forest in early episodes- though this could be put down to the others or just peoples minds playing tricks on them. I really don't know how they are gonna explain the smoke. John Locke was the first to meet it and is still alive but never spoke of it- I wonder if we'll ever see what happened when he came face to face with it? This smoke has bugged me from teh start!

 

Locke said he saw a bright white light when he saw it. Doesn;t indicate much, but then Locke could be lying.

 

I reckon it's because of the whole light/dark good/evil thing - the smoke appears differently to a person depending on how 'good' they are. That's what I believe anyway. Remember Locke's line right at the start of Season 1: "two sides, one is light, one is dark" - this may have something to do with it.

 

Great episode this week! I can't wait to see what the rest of Ben's masterplan involves. Juliet is great.

 

Ack I had such high hopes for Juliet and then ya go and find she's still working for Ben!! Cant wait to see what happens in a week like Ben said. Hope its something major and not that she disappears back to them. Ack why cant the next episode be on tonite!!! Grrrrr!!

One thing- when Juliet spoke to Jack about going to get the medicine that was hidden it was the middle of the nite (don't think they'd have been standing around discussing stuff near morning, though could be wrong) and dark- when we next see her where the medicine was stashed its day time. Cant remember how long its meant to take to dander up near the caves (where I think Juliet mentioned was were the medicine was near).

Was just thinking about how they'll end lost. Will it be a whimper or build with a massive crescendo? I wonder if a battle will happen? The Dharma thing being founded illegally and for weaponary persons and the governments know nothing about as the islands appear hidden. And no one who is not important really makes it back out again to the normal world. That's why Ben was so reluctant to let Juliet leave and let Locke blow up the sub. Thats why I dont think Walt and Michael made it- whether they be dead or not. The Dharma Initiative is funded by BIG company's or business men/women I think and will stop it being found out at all costs. I looked into the name Dharma and I wondwer if in Lost the ultimate aim of the DI is a New World Order we so many times hear about?

Anyway just think it would be cool to see a fleet of say naval and airforces appearing on the horizon as they have finally found the islands (playing to the music of Requiem of a Tower (Requiem of a Dream remix))- maybe the bird got through or the fact Desmonds girlfriend is looking for them (maybe other reasons) and discovered something at the end of Series 2 with the russian guys. Has she found out her Dad is connected to the DI in someway? Was the pilot of the plane connected to the DI and why he went back on his course via strange settings? lol So many possibilities but I hope the whole thing goes out with a bang.

Also wondering if another plane will ever crash again in one of the series?

 

To me, the latest episode made me really think that this Jacob fellow is Christian. If Ben was telling the truth about Rachel's cancer being cured then Christian would be in an ideal position to get this mystical cure to her. Furthermore, he could have found out about Sawyer killing that man as they were both in Australia at the time and it's not inconceivable to assume he followed Sawyer or found out by some other means. Furthermore, the finale is supposedly another Jack flashback (ugh), so, it's likely that Christian will appear. Finally, he seems to have met most of the Losties or have some connection to them. For any other show, I'd probably explain it as some kind of nice little connection that is a conincidence, but with Lost I'm not so sure.

 

Well that would explain his appearances on the beach in the first series if he was still alive. Cuz that bit like the black smoke will really need some explaining. Though didnt he just disappear in front of Jack or did Jack lose sight of him?

 

From various tid-bits as they call them that i've read, I think i've figured out roughly how the series will end. I'll highlight it because it does count as spoilery.

Charlie swims underwater to re-connect the cable (found in season one by Sayid). Once the cable is reconnected, the sonar signal thing that Mikhail mentioned starts again (it was knocked out by the purple sky in S2 finale). Once the sonar is going again, Penny's team (who I imagine are near by searching for the Island) will suddenly be able to 'see' the island, and they will turn up right at the end of the episode! And of course, we have the war between Losties and Others going on at the same time, which should be very interesting.

That's what I predict anyway, but knowing Lost i'm totally wrong!
