Lucas should do at least a post-Jedi epilogue movie with an older, wiser Luke Skywalker!

I want nothing more than to see Mark Hamill back on the big screen as an older, wiser Luke Skywalker as a Jedi Master traning a new generation of Jedis and going off on one last crusade with Han and Leia(being a Jedi Master as well) to save the galaxy one last time with the help of the new Jedis and their reaming children/grandchild(Ben Skywalker,Jaina and Allana Solo) in a post-Jedi CGI epilogue movie. If Lucas won't do a sequel trilogy he should at least do an epilogue film either live action or CGI to show what really happened to the galaxy in the post-Jedi era and to show what happned to the big Three(Luke,Han and Leia) especially Luke becoming older and wiser and passing on the torch to the next generation and maybe have Han pass on the Millennium Falcon to Jaina and Allana too. I'm more fascinated with the post-Jedi era than I am with the prequel era! I heard a rumor back in 1998 that Mark Hamill said that George talked to him about being in more film as an Obi-Wan/Yoda type Luke but it wouldn't be live action but CGI and just wanted his & Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher's voices. PLEASE RECONSIDER GEORGE!

I would love for George to write a story where Luke and Leia meet the Naberries. It's unfair for Ruwee and Jobal to never know that Padme's kids are still alive.

I would also love to see another SW movie with Luke Han etc in it. But after the complete pile of ****e that is called the PT I hope Lucas never does another SW movie. I really couldn't stand the disappointment.

Didn't Lucas say that Luke never married? There would be no Ben Skywalker, and this sort of thing would drastically rewrite post-ROTJ continuity.

That would tick off a lot of fans. [face_thinking]

Yeah, Lucas' vision of the post-RotJ galaxy isn't the EU's (which he's described an alternate universe.) There would be retcons galore, which would be fun to watch.

I still say there's enough potential dramatic backdrop for a sequel trilogy. But the main challenge would be a character or antagonist as great as Vader and the Sith.

That would be the main challenge. Otherwise, it would be flat and boring without a great villain.

Maybe add a small epilogue to the end of ROTJ showing the characters in small vignettes with words describing what they did after? Just a few minutes or so.

Leia at a republic cabinet meeting.
    Han and Leia holding children.
Luke teaching a small child as a Jedi Master.(that would fuel debate..is it his kid? who is the boy? and on and on)
Chewie with his kids, Itchy and Scratchy.
3PO and R2 off on some exciting adventure that ends with...

    ...to be continued.

Or Maybe even put the dialogue in a SW scroll to bookend the OT and end with:

"And the Adventure Continues" or something like that.

Sounds like a Sci-Fi channel mini movie. I can't see this being worth a full length film.

I know where it might end up going, if it happens. The reason I don't think and don't want it to happen is because any continuation would undermine the emperor.

I don't know about Padme's parents, but Padme's niece, Pooja, later learned that Leia was her cousin.

I would love to see a VII-IX. Or even just one epic finale episode. But I would want it as a live action full length film, like the other episodes. (no more animation-that's been done enough IMO) I agree there would be many "problematic" changes to what people know of the EU...but I agree that the Yuzhaan Vong invasion could work great. (even as a trilogy, which I would love if it really happened!)

As it is, I think it all ends at the perfect place. Best to not continue it past Darth Vader. As I believe Lucas has said, this is mainly Anakin's story. And I love that idea.

What I WOULD like to really see the most, is some kind of Star Wars film, even trilogy maybe, not set after ROTJ, but in the Old days of the Republic-thousands of years before TPM. Before Anakin, before Palpatine, before even Yoda was born! The Jedi vs. Sith war, the characters of that time, when the "prophecy" was only TALKED about...EVERYTHING would make it a great series of episodes! It would look different, even feel different, but would still be Star Wars! Jedi would have different colored lightsabers and not just lightsabers but also saberstaff...s :p, there would be more than two Sith (just until the very end of it), and the whole galaxy would know about them...technology would look a bit more...primitive, the Jedi would dress abit differently, Coruscant would be not built up quite as much...it would be great! I see that as working the best-it would be a whole new fresh perspective on Star Wars!

I want it set after ROTJ because I WANT TO SEE MARK HAMILL BACK AS AN OLDER,WISER LUKE SKYWALKER DECADES AFTER THE DEATH OF DARTH VADER AND THE EMPORER! I THINK IT'S BEST TO CONTINUE PAST DARTH VADER! ISN'T THERE ANYBODY BESIDES ME WHO WANTS TO SEE AN OLDER,WISER LUKE SKYWALKER TAKE ON A PROTEGE IN THE AFTERMATH OF THE DEFEAT OF VADER AND THE EMPORER???!!!!

I just wish Vader hadn't died in ROTJ. Think how great it would be if he had stayed alive to help the New Republic. He could be a Batman type of vigilante or enforcer.

    *sigh*
