There's been a lot of speculation on who's who since this series started 4 years ago with Lucien Draay being one of the most speculated. But after going back and looking at the clues more closely, I am about 99.9% sure Lucien is pegged to be Darth Nihilus-Lord of Hunger. While we might never witness this in this series, I feel the evidence is hard to overlook, with 4 specific sources coming to mind...

    KOTOR Campaign Guide

The man who became Nihilus lost everything...
His possessions...Lucien lost his home and everything in it.
His loved ones...Lucien lost his mother, his father, a father figure & mentor (Haazen), the woman he loved (Q'Anilia), and the closest thing to siblings (Feln, Raana-Tey & Xamar).

    #35-Vindication

"Nothing could protect my soul. Betrayal & Fury suffocated me--and sustained me."

Sustain-To provide nourishment, for a time.

Hunger-A condition of physical weakness & distress suffered as a result of a long period of undernourishment.

But the biggest clue to me comes from comparing #9, #35, & Star Wars Tales-Unseen, Unheard .

#9-A Troubled Past, A haunted Future (Pretty much says it all)

The issue deals a lot with Lucien's relationship with his mother and her dissappointment with his lack of seeing the future.

Lucien-"Those Miraluka you invite in here--They can't even see!"
Krynda-"They can see farther than you can boy."
"I would gladly give my eyes--and yours--for you to be able to see what the Miraluka can! What I can."

    #35-Vindication

The last entry from Lucien Draay holding his arms out toward a large planet, from some unknown moon. The entry is told entirely in thought, not dialogue. But the last entry struck me the most

"And at last, I can see my future." Which he ironically says with a bandage covering his eyes.

    Unseen, Unheard

This short story is about Visas Marr & the destuction of Katarr. This entry is also told entirely through thought, not dialogue.
It ends with Visas waking up on the ravager...

Visas-"I don't know why he brought me there." (Once again, overlooking a giant, unknown planet)
"I asked him why he had spared me. Although he said nothing, I suddenly knew the answer."
"It was because he wanted my people, at last, to see." (But, unlike bandaged Lucien in #35, she has her eye sockets cut out)

So Lucien gave his eyes and finally was able to see like the miraluka (like his mother wanted in #9).

And Nihilus made the miraluka see (Like young Lucien mentioned in #9).

Combine this with Lucien's love for Q'Anilia & Nihilus's decision to keep Visas alive while the rest of her planet died and to me it makes by far the most sense of any Nihilus theory so far.

JJM Hath Spoken. Multiple times. So this is one line of speculation that doesn't need to be pursued any further.

    Interesting.

Wasn't there a reference in Vindication when someone (Haazen? I forget) suggests he take the name of Zion or Sion? (from the end of the name "Lucien", I believe)... I'm pretty sure he can't be Sion, but I would find it hilarious if he ended up as Nihilus. Then again, I could be just confusing myself.

It could be how Sion gets the title. Nihilus (Lucien?) could bestow it upon him, since it was originaly supposed to be his path.

the KOTOR CG says that Sion was a Sith Marauder in the Great Sith War. We just don't know when he started to go by the name Darth Sion. i don't think it was Nihulus who gave him that name though. Most probably it was Kreia since, despite the fact they were a "triumvirate", i always got the feeling she was the one in charge.
But anyway nice theory. it's just too bad that the KOTOR comics are ending in three issues. i sincerely hope that JJM is able to continue to explore that timeframe and those characters in any kind of format. what he has done to KOTOR era is just astounding.

    Haha... that'd be funny. :p[face_laugh]

It'd be a very sad fate if Lucien eventually still ended up a Sith after all. :(

For that reason, I'd enjoy this, even if we'll probably never find out who Nihilus is. It'd be highly unexpected though for the guy pegged to be Sion to one day turn out to be Nihilus and instead bestow the other possible fate he had avoided on another instead. Makes me wonder whether the True Covenant place is on Malachor. Now that would be the irony to end all ironies. Going there to sit out the war in secret... then BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM. :p

Malachor could also be the planet Lucien is overlooking from the cliff. And I'm also wondering if Lucien's body could be slowly deteriorating from the explosion on Coruscant, combined with the Sith magic in the Kressh Gauntlet. He also wants to follow the belief system of his mother and father. What happens if his own belief system collapses? That leads to Nihilism-the belief in nothing.

Huh- See I saw Lucien starting a new Order much like the Tribe of the Sith. And that they are still out there somewhere.....

I think it's confirmed Lucien does not become a Sith.

Asked and answered here in another thread. Lucien made it clear in his speech (as clear as he could without knowing the future figure you're discussing) that he would not go willingly toward a destiny another had prepared for him -- but would find another way, as his father always had in life. Haazen clearly intended for Lucien to become the dark figure mentioned in the Prophecy of the Five, but Lucien just as clearly turned from that path.

The connections you perceive are no mistake; Haazen was onto something about the future. But he forgot about free will -- and, particularly, Draay defiance...

but if there's such a thing as the Will of the Force, where's does free will come in? (any and all similarities between my question and Kreia's line of thought are absolute coincidences:p gotta love that old bat).

I see it as one has free will up untill the choice- once chosen and acted upon- that WAS the destined action.
