Luke Skywalker fans UNITE! (v.2)

My favorite appearance wise is ESB for sure (specifically, when on Dagobah).

Aaaah yes. Very nice. Did you know that Mark did all (or the majority) of his stunts for Star Wars??? I would say it shows

 

He was inducted into the Stuntworkers Union for his work on ESB, actually.

He did all his own stunts except for one - the shot of Luke crashing through the glass window on Cloud City. Everything else is him.

 

It's obvious from my icon that I think ROTJ is the best of the three. Not to mention my fave movie of all time.

I heard an interview with him (or part of it anyway) where he said that prior to filming he was studying some martial arts to prepare (specifically Kendo). I thought that was pretty cool.

Okay, of the 3 Lukes....that's kinda funny, btw, 3 Lukes....ROTJ Luke is the coolest of course. ANH is the cutest--DID I JUST SAY THAT?! And I really like ESB Luke....I love ESB itself so much. But as far as "attitude" ROTJ Luke gets my vote. I love the final duel scenes. They are more dramatic than any other duel scene, out of all the SW movies.

See, that's why I love TFN, you're always learning some information that you'll never need in your life and it just takes up brain space...I love that!! Anyways, that is pretty cool. I wonder if Harrison can claim that? Though I heard he's another who does alot of his own stunts (maybe not now, he probably uses all his energy on keeping up with Calista Flockhart )

I'll pass up another bit of information, in case anyone here doesn't know it. It's about the scenes with Luke stumbling across Hoth, before he collapses into the snow.

The temperature outside was terrible, even for Norway. It was something awful like 40 degrees below, and the hotel where they were all staying was virtually snowed-in on that day. So, they got Hamill into his outfit, and he would go outside while they filming him from the hotel door, staggering around and so on. Inbetween takes, Hamill would come back inside and be covered with towels and so on to warm back up.

 

I'll pass up another bit of information, in case anyone here doesn't know it. It's about the scenes with Luke stumbling across Hoth, before he collapses into the snow.

Gee, thanks Damon, didn't know that either. Heck, I didn't even know they filmed in Norway. So, did Mark end up with any frostbite? Now, that would be interesting to know. So, he was really freezing in those scenes. George is such a blasted realist

Oh wait...so the camera crew and director were nice and warm filming from the doorway while Mark was freezing outside?? Man, where was the Actor's Union on this? That doesn't sound right...

Hello! I've been offline for quite some time and thought I'd pop in and say 'hey.'

I agree with Naccha about RotJ Luke. I like them all, though!

 

DeJade_Vu: even though I'm a little late on this, I'll take a roster number, please, since some of them aren't taken.

I'm trying to think of something to generate some Luke discussion, but I'm drawing a blank. ?

Oh here's one, albeit not very good probably, but what's your favorite Luke collectible among all your SW stuff? Mine is a poster that I have..I can't find a pic of it anywhere or else I'd show you all. It's ANH-era Luke and he's facing the camera and holding up a blaster and it's got some stuff written on it next to him--basically a summation of what happens to him throughout the trilogy. One interesting thing on it, it says: "The young Rebel hero Luke Skywalker has grown up on the Tatooine farm of Beru and Owen Lars whom he believes to be his Aunt and Uncle." Which, of course, is kinda funny since Ep. II says they are his Aunt and Uncle.

Anyway, what's your favorite Luke item?

 

Not to be "stupid". I think it would help the series. It would make him even more respected and his name would be even bigger. I'd like to see what his students would do. Don't get me wrong. I love Luke. I just think it would be a great twist.

I think my favorite Luke item has got to be the card (I think it was the #1 card in the series) that came in the Wonderbread bags way back when. Maybe this one came in the packets with the stick of gum that tasted like cardboard? Either way I got it, that's my favorite item. Do you guys remember the cards in the bread bags? I remember having to harass my Mom until she got used to buying Wonderbread!

The only Luke item I really have is an action figure of him in the Endor gear. The helmet is part of his head. I've had it for so long I can't imagine owning a Luke figure with hair you can see. I'd like to get the 25th anniversary Luke & Leia figures. They look pretty nice. I also have a bunch of pictures.

Now that you've explained yourself I actually had a similar thought concerning the NJO books. I love Luke but I almost think that I would rather him go out in a blaze of glory, a heroic death befitting a great Jedi Master than to die of mediocrity (which the NJO seems to be allocating to him). I would be immensely sad but it seems cruel to keep Luke Skywalker as a sub-standard Jedi Master...which he is not! (Note: see EU Boards-SOS thread)

I really have no Luke collectible stuff though I really wanted that last figure of him on the tauntaun. That was so cool! My favorite Luke thing I guess is the painting I did of him. My reference photo was an awesome picture of him in ROTJ... Anyways, when I figure out how to post it from my computer (not from a web site) I'll do it...I'm so computer literate...not!

Hm, I don't have any action figures or collectibles whatsoever.

But I must say that I enjoy ROTJ-Luke the most. He's so cool! And dressed all in black. ::thumbs up:: It's such an obvious change from enthusiastic but raw (ANH), to seasoned and in command (ESB), to serene and centered, but still dangerous (ROTJ, of course). I love the progression through the trilogy to what he becomes in Jedi - a Jedi. The throne room scenes are my absolute favorites of the entire saga. Great stuff. Mark Hamill was fabulous as Luke Skywalker.

Is that enough for a roster spot?

OMG, this is so weird...I just noticed the new banner and that picture of Luke is the very same one I painted and it is also flipped from the original image...just like I did...I gotta tell ya, I'm freaked. When I was painting it, I swore that he was watching me...that painting is haunting me But, that is another subject all together

 

I know this could be for ep. III, but this is a Luke thread and I'm just curious. How do you think and want Luke portrayed in ep. III? Will we see him as a baby? Or maybe a toddler? Or an older child at the end? Do you think they will show him at all? I'm hoping they do...I'd love to see him as a baby. All the women in the theater will just go "Awwwww" in unison...he would be such a cute baby
