No, I'm not making jokes at the expense of Mac Users, despite their clearly inferior personal and mental hygiene. I'm referring to the PC vs. Mac commercials in which the PC user describes the various threats against his system. Is it just me, or is this essentially taunting the hackers who have tried to destroy Macs?

    .VBS FTW!

That one comic strip someone posted that said that nobody cares enough to try to write viruses for Macs had a good point.

First of all, I'm a Mac user and my hygiene is NOT inferior, mental or physical. And for all we know, there could be hackers out there trying to break into our computers. It's hard to say.

It's not that no one's trying, thare are a bunch of people, it's just that it's not worth the effort. OSX is built on a UNIX platform, which is rediculously stable and hard to crack.

Hacking a Mac would be like knocking over a guy in a wheel chair. Yeah, you could do it, but seeing as he's such a bad state in the first place, then why bother?

What's more fun, knocking down one guy in a wheelchair or, with the same effort, knocking down a hundred standing guys.

I'm gonna have to go with one guy in a wheelchair, actually. Does that make me a bad person? [face_worried]

    :p

Well since the mac HAS been getting viruses lately, it seems their effort was not wasted, nor as uncrackable as some users think.

I agree with the "why bother".
What would the viruses destroy? Your home movies?

I could click on your ban button if that makes you feel better (as it won't do a damn thing) :)

I love when those commercials point out all the things I love about PCs. Like where the PC is getting a webcam installed...because you know...PCs can get UPGRADES. And the Macs like...yeah I have a webcam...but what if you want a better webcam? OH SNAP!

    I don't get it either. =/

Versatility vs. stuck with what Apple gives you.

It's the same reason that the mouse only has 1 button.
    Mine has 5.

If you ever look at a remote control for an infant RC Car, it will have 1 or maybe 2 buttons. One to go and one maybe to turn.
    [image=http://brighttotsonline.com/images/My-first-rc.gif]

Look at an adult's Remote Control for a robot and you get full control and multiple knobs and buttons

Why do they only allow you to do just so much?.... hmmm.

Because apparently it's supposed to be cool to be able to do everything with 1 button that doesn't do everything. =/

And being able to run at least three OSs with one computer isn't versatile at all. A mac can run OS X, Windows, Linux, etc. etc.
