Massive props to Charles Soule (who is a great writer), but this excerpt confirms I'll definitely skip this era.

That said, I really liked the Warriors design language for the criminal elements posted above, shame they aren't using those designs.

 

I don't normally read SW books (just the comics), but the IGN video explaining the events is somewhat intriguing. I'm surprised that a ship has never blown up while traveling through hyperspace before. I know this is science fantasy and not science fiction, so I'm not about to do a deep dive on the laws of motion to figure out what would actually happen in real life, but what it sounds like is going to happen in the book is that different parts of the ship - The Legacy Run - is going to exit hyperspace in different areas of the galaxy at different times? which will create a chain of events that will threaten the galaxy.

How many pieces is this ship going to break into? How many will be big enough to create a problem?

Probably better questions for the Lit forum, if I do decide to read the excerpt, but what do others feel? Will they pass on this era as well?

 

Well it's a barely explained way to travel from a bad science fiction franchise so presumably they can just do whatever the hell they want because it's not real.

I just really like the idea of this era... Jedi who are more decentralized as an organization, more human yet also closer to the light as individuals, an ideal time in the Republic, a crisis more about responding to an accidental disaster (it seems).

If this fails, we'll just get more and more retreads of the OT/ST, and more Imperials/Sith/darksiders/governments as the evil villains. And I'm sick of those stories in Star Wars. We need a break from it, and I'm glad it's going in a different direction and actually trying to be innovative.
