Anyone here speak Hungarian fluently?

 

I thought this was Gammorrean...

And Hungarian isn't Slavic language, is it?

 

I'd say it is...

No, not a slavic language, but I know Hungary is very close to many slavic countries and since there didn't seem to be a Hungarian forum, this seemed the logic starting place to find Hungarian speaking SW fans.

 

Well... if only they knew they could talk here ;-)

If you need something translated,try the translator engines.....but I don't think one exists...not sure though.....

 

I know of one Hungarian on the boards, Lorovus, and he very rarely posts.

Gondolom ezt is érted, na mindegy, a lényeg, hogy nekem Magyar az anyanyelvem, bár a helyesírásom csupán 4-es. Gyulán születtem és Budapesten lakom. Ennyi, mondjak esetleg még valamit?

Yeah I guessed so, anyway this country isn't slavic. Though there are ethnical blending you know.

 

I only know that you should pronounce 's'-'sh' and 'sz'-'s'.

What else... Szalasi, Horthy, Imre Nagy, Kadar, another Nagy... that's all, I guess

 

Hehe, and that's only amusing for me...

Well... in some way it is slavic country
from what I know Hungarians assimilated slavic people from today's hungarian territory (though don't know home many od them lived thre, must have been quite a lot, since Hungary is between two groups of slavic-language country)
and second thing is that we have in poland santence saying that Pole and Hungarian are two brothers

Of course it's not.
It's one of the most difficult languages on the World. Well, I'm not a language teacher, but as Hungarian is my mother's language, I suppose I could help you. But the effort should be organized. How do you plan to do it?

Anyway, yeah, we assimilated them in the past, but then came trianon 1 and 2, so we lost slavic territorries, and those of course became self-sufficient nations. As I said, there's ethnical blending.

 

I actually have a tutor, but she's away for the summer so I'm on my own for two months. If you wouldn't mind me PMing you with questions on the language, that would be great! I leave for Miskolc in less than two weeks, so I'm doing a lot of intense last minute studying.

 

I would prefer you adding me to your msn contact list (if you use msn) 'cause as Cobra said, I rarely visit this site.
