Might I suggest, The Dented Helmet? Good place to start, in any event.

I was trying to bait Fandalorians. From a writing POV, the article is well done. Taking the POV of someone actually living in the GFFA, the Mandalorians come off as militants who thrive on war, which is an enemy of galactic peace. The horrors of the Mandalorian Wars showed that, and the Mando'ade's history has yet to show an improvment. The evidence provided in the article simply help support the belief that the galaxy is better off with the Mandalorians in an extremely weaken state.

Isn't that rather contrary to the TOS?

I'm sure Karen will love to hear that (though, on the other hand, I've said the same sort of thing about Abel Pena, so hey, who am I to talk? :p).

Which is an unachievable goal, in any case. If not the Mandos (several thousand years ago mind you), it would have been someone else.

If that be the caes, then I don't imagine you read the article very thoroughly.[face_thinking]

Now this is rather curious; you're apparently conflating the absence of a cultural imperative towards conquest with weakness. Interesting. I wonder who else we could apply this to...

Jedi perhaps? Even if it doesnt apply to them, it does, because Jedi just suck that much.

Well, I wouldn't say that much, though they do have flaws, especially that no-marriage thing (recently discarded though).*snorts indignantly* No true Mando would put up with such nonsense.[face_not_talking] :p

Well, be fair. Some of them were good enough to sadly pwn our beloved Mandos at Galidraan. [sob]
I mostly agree with you, though. [face_peace]

You've got to think though, Canderous Ordo was the one who turned the Mandos largely away from endless attempts at conquest, and towards the more stable, less wantonly-destructive mercenary life, and at the behest of Revan, apparently...[face_thinking]

If any of my brother Mando'ade would like to slay me now, I humbly plead in my defence that I've been associating with Jetiise girls much as of late.:p

Actually Canderous was more into bringing the Crusaders back to life, at the behest of Revan. I believe it was after him that the Mandalorian Mercs formed.

    Vor'e.[:D]

Yeah, he's still around, though I haven't seen him in the Mando threads for a while. Pity, really. I'd think he'd be more at peace with the Mandos now.[face_thinking]

Agreed. We could definitely use him in the new TZ thread, as the old one was his favorite, IMO, haunt in these parts.

    o_O

Blame it on the ladies? None of them deserve that stigma. We all know the real source of your bias is a philosophically inclined Jedi who keeps managing to talk sense into your Mando'ad brain, ner vod. ;)

Well, what I said was at least partly true, from a certain point of view.;)

I will admit though, that words spoken in my defence, as I supposed, were ill-chosen and unbefitting of my honour, for which I do deeply repent me.[face_blush]

    Where did I say otherwise?[face_mischief] [face_whistling]

 Was not interestd in the article. Too much explanation for something that I could care about. Mandalorians are about warfare and the destruction that there weapons can bear on people and cultures. Not interested in finding out about there history.

No, I actually don't have a problem with his posting that he doesn't like it. I do have a problem with the way he chooses to express himself, suggesting that because is does not interest him it should not have been made. There is a difference. I have no problem with people disagreeing with me, but that doesn't mean that I won't argue back. I'm not somehow infringing on his right to speak by criticising his speech.

Just finished reading the article... and loved it! Perfectly written with beautiful illustrations. I have to admit that I didn't bother reading it at first; I guess i was too distracted by Abel's "Unknown Soldier" story.

It's good to see that Insider is getting more informative articles like this. All they have to do now is bring back HoloNet News, and Insider will be perfect!
