Collected new words from Karen's SW.com-blog...
No quotes, 'cause I just post the word and the translations. Unfortunately, Karen can't check that... maybe Ryan can :)

aruetii (ah-roo-AY-tee), plural: aruetiise = traitor, outsider, "them" - (KT: That's a very important word in Triple Zero. You'll see it used a lot, and in interesting ways.)
    ca = night
    Ke'sush (Keh-SOOSH) - "Atten-shun!" the good old army command
Mar'e (MAH-ray)- colloquial, "At last!" Expression of relief
nau'ur (sometimes seen as naur)= to light up
nau'ur kad = to forge a saber (literally, to light it up, because the metal glows red hot)

Karen: "Now vod'ika is really asking for a smack in the gob...."

And somehting on Mando'a cooking I don't wanna quote: http://blogs.starwars.com/karentraviss/30/comments

Interesting how it seems to share some linguistic similarties with Jetii(s?)/Jetiise.[face_mischief] :p

Well, since Jedi and Mando'ade so often found themselves fighting each other, I would imagine that the Mando's would feel a certain sence of animosity toward the Jedi. However, I can't think of single time when the Jedi would have betrayed the Mandalorians, since that would imply them trusting each other in the first place, something I do not recall ever happening, nor can I imagine it happening under any but very bizare circumstances. I mean beyond single warriors earining each other's trust.

Of course, ner Jetiis vod. If there's any deliberate connection (and knowing Karen, there probably is) between the two words, it probably lies in the second definition (i.e. "outsider").

Would be cool to get Karen's input on this.[face_thinking]

Ah, I missed the outsider definition. I wish Karen would come back and explain all this stuff to us.

    Don't we all?

I'm thinking that the "outsider" connection would probably be the only one that would have any relevance when it comes to Jedi. Indeed, we see that if nothing else the Mandalorians respect the Jedi, particularly those like Revan or the Exile who were great warriors as well as great Jedi in general; even though they in general dislike the Jedi. And, given how well known the Jedi's "tolerance" - more like, lack there of - of traitors in their own midst, I think that the Mandalorians would probably respect that side of Jedi culture as well.

But outsider definitely fits. Of course, that really does beg the question of what would be the role of a Jedi who joined the Mandalorians? We know that powerful Jedi are more than capable of earning the respect and loyalty of even great Mandalorians - see KotOR I and II for proof. So one who joined would, I think, after some training and some proving themselves, be in a position where they got a lot of respect amongst the rest of the Mando'ade.

    Very astute.[face_thinking]

You're probably quite right, and I think that would be a fascinating concept to investigate.

On a somewhat related note, I don't want to shamelessly plug my own work, but I'm currently exploring the reverse possibility on the Beyond the Saga sub-forum.[face_thinking]

    Vor'e burc'yase! Gar hibira iviin'yc!

I'm proud to announce that I've finally translated two more important greetings from my own home town, namely, "You looking at me funny, pal?" and "You want some, then, mate?" They seem so much classier in Mando'a.[/quote]

I used to live in portsmouth. and your right they do seems so much classier. The amount of times i heard people say them...

New confirmed words from her blog and SW.com-Message-Boards thread Mando'a Discussion

    Hibirar -to learn
Darasuum -eternity (noun, used as an adjective as well)
    Ni -I
    Ti -with
jetii'kad -lightsaber (a fanmade word, but Karen said it can be used for lightsaber as well)
    A -but
    Be -of

(btw, I don't think anyone wants to know that, but my username on TOS is "Tracyn"... I can ask Karen questions that way... I'm glad this thread exists, since I couldn't post comments in her blog because I'm not Hyperspace-member)

    EDIT:
Karen had a typo in the sentence...

    EDIT:
    http://starwars.wikicities.com/wiki/Mando%27a

I always update that Wiki-page when there are new "official" Mando'a words. Worth check

Hmm, no th huh? They may also call sith, traitor jedi( i am to lazy to right it in mado'a) as the sith didnt exactly stop being jedi, as turned on the jedi and attacked them. Perhapes the "dark one", for sith lords. I dunno, this is a tough question.

The site that it's from says this:

A movie-accurate version of the Mandalorian font, as seen in the Episode II Visual Dictionary and the 2004 Star Wars DVD release.

Since when was there mandalorian font in the movies?

Looks like goofy fanon to me -- is that Aurebesh? Cause there's no Mando script in the movies anywhere I can see, and certianly not enough to make an alphabet out of if there is.

it prooves nothing.. it is fanmade, the symbols from the dvd might as well be any other random alien writings. and the signs in the slave 1 may be kuati because it is kdy made^^ mustn´t be mandalorian!

I don't think anyone's trying to 'prove' anything. They were just sharing an interesting link - no need to jump all over 'em, ok? Besides, most of the Mando'a we know isn't "official" yet anyways. And who cares if this isn't official - it's interesting, regardless. It's like the "Rosetta Stone" of Star Wars. :)

Interesting indeed, but still fanon. A very large assumption to make that it's Mandalorian, and even he admits he made up 1 in 4 letters. Someone should send that to Ms. Traviss, though, and see what she thinks.

If you read back through the thread (or maybe it was the RC:TZ one), I think Karen commented that it's mostly identical to the official Mandalorian alphabet she got out of the Holocron.[face_thinking]

I wasnt trying to prove anything, i felt it would be a good idea to share what i found with everyone... and its not completely made up, the script in the slave I was indeed mandalorian, because we know it isnt Aurebesh and we have no proof that its Kuati (why would Jango learn it?)... so Vor'e ywingempress for getting my back...
