At 1:20-1:24 it sounds like “Mara Jade, Mara Jade, Mara Jade” in the guitar strings.

 

Not hearing it. Is this a "Mara Jade" in some other non-SW context?

 

Really not sure, it was in a list of Mara Jade music videos. But I think Rock fits her personality more.

Fair enough reason. I just don’t think she can ever exist in canon because then you would get 50 million messages a day about why didn’t Luke marry her in canon.

She could be worked in, but yeah they’d have to forgo her marrying Luke, which messes with Legends. Then again the only canon Jacen Solo we will get is Kylo Ren.

Semi-related, I've been doing a deep dive / Jade Crusades retrospective of Mara Jade's appearances through the years on Tumblr (link).

 

I like those covers. They make sense given Survivor's Quest can be seen as a sequel of sorts (if not explicitly so) to Outbound Flight.

What amazes me is that Mara "died" 15 years ago and even today, she keeps inspiring artists and fanfic writers.

Luke doesnt feel complete without Mara thats why i cant enjoy the Disney Universe Version of Luke that much even if Mara Exist someday in the Disney Universe it will not be the same the Union Comics cannot be replicated

 

I agree, they balance each other out so perfectly. It also really doesn't fit at all with the PT or the OT for Luke to NOT get married at all. It's pretty obvious that one of the flaws with the old Jedi Order was their whole no attachment thing. IIRC, some Jedi in the old Jedi Order were allowed to marry for cultural reasons too. Like Ki-Adi Mundi. Luke always wanted a family to belong to, and it was his love for his father that brought Anakin back.

Also, I don't give a flying gundark no corporation is going to tell me what is canon and what isn't. At this point, head canon should rule supreme. After all, IMHO The Holiday Special is better and more Star Wars than the 3 abominations some call the ST. The real ST is Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising and The Last Command. Nothing Disney has made has been equal to or better than the EU.
