Mara Jade theory

As far as I know, we don't know who her parents are.

Her character has been invented by Zahn. The main characters in Survivor's Quest are Luke Skywalker, Mara Jade, and Formbi.

Luke Skywalker is the "survivor" of the Jedi, Formbi the "survivor" of the Chiss, and Mara Jade the survivor of ... Outbound Flight? Could her parents be among the survivors in the Redoubt?

 

She's too young. According to Leland Chee she was born nine years after OBF.

 

No, or else the other force sensitive kids would've been picked up by Palpatine too.



I still think it'd work if she was Palpatine's daughter. His and Sanya Tagge's.

 

If her birthdate wasn't retconned, or if Siri didn't die in 20 BBY, I'd say that she was Obi-wan and Siri's kid...

What other reason would Palpy send her after Luke after his first death? Either the daughter of Kenobi kills the son of Skywalker, or the son of Skywalker kills the daughter of Kenobi in self-defense. That'd make sense, don't you think?

 

She is probably Korunai or whatever Mace Windu's people were. They Have a righ rate of force sensitivity births. Especialy since he garrason Dothmir. And the Janasari were in hiding.

They could have grabed some random force sensitive child, but I seriously doubt thats since vader must have come across dozens of force sensative soilders, pilots, or, stratagists or just your radom guy on the street. and never even botherd them.

 

Apparently we're supposed to pity Jade for her horrific life of shopping and partying and "prestige".

 

Erm... she's definitely not Korunnai. Korunnai are described as having notably dark skin (Mace?). Mara, not so much.

Why does she have to be related to someone? Her backstory is just fine as is. In fact, it would be a lot less sensible if it were anything other than what it is.

Seeing is Kol Skywalker looks EXACTLY like Iaco Stark, I'd wager Iaco could be Mara's grandfather. Not to mention he was a pirate, which Mara was for a time.

That too. I rather like the fact her past is still ambiguous. Sometimes it's better to leave some stories to the imagination.

 

Considering that Mara Jade is the creation of Zahn, her father could very well be Kinman Doriana... Chronologically it would be possible, as he probably died sometime around her birth. And mother? Some Force sensitive, perhaps a Jedi, perhaps not.

 

I still want her to be the child of Quinlame and Ms. Hentz

I have to say I am waaaay against Mara Jade being some secret lovechild of Palpatine's. In fact if that was the case let's face it...the authors would have dropped that bombshell on us looooooong ago. Ben Skywalker would be referred to as "Not only the union of Luke and Mara, but the direct descendant of the Emperor and Darth Vader" (Shudders). I'd prefer if she was someone born to some trailer trash parents somewhere, left to fend mostly for herself at an early age and discovered by good old Palps. He recognizes the force flowing within her and takes her in under his wing. Since it has been determined that she was never a darksider because she was not acting in her own self interest and didn't know what she was doing was evil, this can only be justified by Palpatine picking her up early in life before she was able to form a reasonable Moral Code of her own.

And the Clone Trooper idea? Please no. Don't even whisper it in Dark Corners. Someone might hear you and then I will have to deal with "Cade Skywalker....Heir to the Skywalker Legacy....Jedi Master....Mandalore." which would make me want to break things. I would rather have the authors shoehorn Reven into the Skywalker bloodline than have the authors shoehorn Mandalorians into the Skywalker Bloodline. Yes, the suggestion of Reven being an ancestor of the Skywalkers has made me threaten to take CD's, books, and action figures out into the back yard and shoot them....imagine what "Jedi Mando" would make me do.

And yes, actually they DID randomly grab those force sensetives. They did that or killed them. They had a whole branch devoted to it called the Inquisition.

I don't think Mara came from any of the possiblities mentioned before,because on Borders.com,search Star Wars:Allegiance,under Editorail Reviews * Allegiance Spoiler*Mara's name is Mara Jade Claria,so unless her name was changed,she's the Claria's child.

 

Since they always like to link and recycle story lines, the authors will probably make her the byproduct of Palpatine trying to recreate Darth Plagueis' experiment.

About Jade as Palpatine's daughter: I was kidding, mostly. I'm just interested in having Palpatine and Sanya Tagge involved with one another.
