LA, CA March Official Meeting -- Bennigan's in Glendale - Friday, 3/23 @ 7:30

I'm in, officially

 

I was going to try to go but I just remembered my padawan's musical. Have fun!

 

Since this is an OFFICIAL meeting, why can't we have it on either Sat or Sun, like all of our official meetings. We usually only do unofficial on Thu or Fri because its hard for some of us to make it there after work. I think we will have a much biiget turnout if we have it on sat night.

 

I'd vote for keeping it where it is as I'm not off work yet on Sat/Sun

 

The quick answer is that this one is already scheduled, and people have already made plans around it so it's not fair to change it at this point. If VK over-rides this, well, that is her right of course.

The philosophical answer (not addressing the precedent question, which I'm not sure is accurate) is that we all know that no day is EVER good for everyone. On weekends, those of us with Padawans often have duties and obligations that take precedence. On weeknights, the need to get up early for work the next day (or to even GET to the meeting because of ones commute) makes it hard for some. I feel (and this is just my opinion) that the fairest way to handle these issues is to rotate meetings around different times/days, much like we rotate having them in different regions of Los Angeles, and designate some "official" and others not.

Anyway, it seems that the LAFF has never had hard-and-fast rules about anything, although if we wanted to start we could? Thoughts?

 

It's OK to have this one on Friday because that was the day the organizer picked.

The April meeting will go back to a weekend schedule.

And of course, C-IV is all week long, so we'll just have to see what day of that week might be a good time for those of us LAFF-ers who are going to get together (if there is such a time LOL).

 

I thought we decided on Friday 3/23 because Saturday 3/24 is Fan Day II at the CSC & a lot of us LAFFERS are planning to go to that.

I'm hoping to see you all both days.

 

Hi fellows!

Long time I've written. I've been busy at work and usually this is the place where I use the internet. I work in a children's clinic and I was painting a mural. I also participated in the L.A. Marathon. It took me 7 hrs 9 minutes and 15 secs to finish it but I crossed the finish line.

You can count me in too.

I thought the darn thing was tonight. Good thing I checked here this morning. Silly me. Well I'll see you guys next friday. I have 20 copys of the quiz, 30 questions, and 6 prizes...but 3 are star trek instead of star wars...does anyone mind? I have some more prizes found, and depending on what sort of numbers we are getting for this I can throw them in as well. I'm really working on cleaning stuff out of my collections that I don't need.

If you don't mind an Inland Empire visitor, I'd like to try to make it. It will depend on my puppy situation and if I feel like driving that direction two days in a row, as I plan on going to Fan day at the CSC on the 24th. I've never been to Bennigan's. Sounds like fun!

You and me CBM? HECK YES! I'll totally carpool. That's the only reason I wouldn't go, coz I didn't wanna go by myself. I'm off at 4 that day (possibly earlier if I get released from a dreaded auto shift).

I found a Huttese/Bocce phrasebook in a used book store. I'll do my best to remember to bring it Friday.
