Gotta agree with this. It's like the concept art goes out of its way to emphasize that this cyborgs RIGHT HAND is robotic. Not only is it robotic, it looks just like Anakin and Luke's robot hand(s).
This picture especially, looks incredibly similar to Anakin's first droid hand in Ep II.
    Also this:
Robotic right hand teased by JJ himself. Clearly this has some significance. Also notice that the rocky, mossy background looks a lot like the terrain of Skellig Michael. Where Luke is rumored to be and where Mark Hamill and Daisy were rumored to be shooting a scene. The cyborg who we've seen toying with Vader's helmet and holding "Kira" IS Luke Skywalker. There's no doubt in my mind.

then what would be luke's motivation to hold up his dead father's burnt mask?

To be introspective. Looking at what his father was which he now resembles. Mourning him maybe. Luke has some serious attachment to that mask, it's the face of his father. Like D'an, I don't think this proves that Luke is a villain. But it does show that Luke has changed. He's changed inside and out. When George Lucas would talk about his ideas for the Sequel Trilogy way back when, he said that it would be about morality, and that good and evil aren't always what they resemble on the outside. Luke may look like a monster, but it doesn't mean he is.

You guys realize that robot prosthetic hands for humans in the Star Wars universe are probably pretty common and all have similar design right?

Darklighter57, how does that hand look like Luke's? Luke's was covered in synthetic flesh. We saw some innards in the forearm ("Lost your hand, eh? Nice clean cut. 'Fraid we'll have to take off a bit more to wire a replacement to your nervous system." - 2-1B) and then some of the back of his hand as he pulls the glove onto it. That's all.

Name one other human in the movies with a prosthetic hand other than Luke and Anakin. Im not saying it's impossible for another human to loose his/her arm, and ill admit it's a stretch basing all of this speculation on one hand. However I still think there's a certain amount of importance being emphasized on this hand. the more and more I look at these pictures the more and more I believe the cyborg is Luke. Beard or no beard, we all know that JJ has mandated other "contractual obligations" that existed only to fool the fans. The fact that Hamill has even mentioned that his beard is a contractual obligation, pushes me in this direction.

Seriously, we've see so many prosthetic in Star Wars, and the simplicity and speed with which Luke's hand was replaced... and years earlier - Anakin's... it's implied this is a common procedure!

But there are still only two humans that we see receive these prosthetic replacements. The hand, and the Skellig Michael location and the concept art are leading me all to believe that the cyborg is Luke. There are a lot of "symbols" in Star Wars, and the robot hand is one of them. To see it pop up again and again is telling me something.

At some point you have to use common sense though. Just because only 2 humans have been seen in the films with prosthetic replacements doesn't mean ONLY 2 humans could POSSIBLY have a prosthetic hand.

This is an entire Galaxy worth of people, and hand replacements were made in VASTLY different locations in VASTLY different conditions in VASTLY different Era's... yet both were handled as if they were both very routine procedures, meaning the tech is perfected and the procedure of replacement is perfected, and the knowledge and the tech is EXTREMELY readily available, meaning they can write in any human character they want at any time to have a prosthetic right hand and it would not at all be out of place.

You WANT to see Luke in that image more than the robotic hand implies it's Luke IMO.

Can't believe there's still people hell bent on thinking Luke is the cyborg. What's wrong with him just being older luke? We'll have plenty of other creepy guys to enjoy! One skywalker already tragically fell to the Dark side and was later redeemed. Let's not recycle that storyline for the new trilogy MMM kay?
I'm with Evil_eLF on this. The cyborg is Andy Serkis. He confirmed he's the voice in the teaser. The voice sounds very sith like and there's alot of mystery going on about who Serkis is playing. Remember it doesn't have to be a Mocap character! They wouldn't tell Mark to grow a big Duck Dynasty beard if he was just gonna cover it up with a metal face and dress up like some scary evil Palpatine wannabe. Get real!

There are always discussions, he is the 'evil' cyborg or he is just older Luke, ever thought that he can be both? I mean something terrible may happen in Act III and he becomes the cyborg then, which does not necessaily mean he is automatically evil then as well. I don't say this is gonna happen, but often past repeats itself. ;)

I'm thinking abandoned idea or not Luke.
JJ wouldn't murder our childhoods with a storyline like that. It's not in his character.

I don't know why people keep implying that if Lukes the cyborg he's a villain. I said before that I believe Luke will be the cyborg, but not necessarily evil. I think Luke will still be one of the good guys, but changed inside and out. Also how is a robed cyborg a Palpatine wannabe? Thats like saying anyone with a hood and a scary face is a Palpatine wannabe. And they would tell mark to grow a beard if they wanted to hide this reveal. Also, the filming at Michael Skellig, where Luke is rumored to be hiding, took place in July of 2014. That's before Mark's beard went full Duck Dynasty. If we don't see Luke's face by the first full trailer of TFA, I'll be even more convinced that good ol' Luke is the cyborg.

It's a cool pic, but it looks slapped together from various sources to me. Not at all like Mark Hamill stood and posed for this photo for use as promo material.
