I...actually love it. I think this would be great. No tan, though. White and black mix, no tan or brown. Like Starkiller's final outfit in TFU.

That would be, like, insanely cool. Put the hood down so it's less Assassin's Creed-esque, and I think on Luke it'd be the coolest thing ever.

As a huge fan of costume design, I would love to see Luke in black and white, reflecting balance in the Force. That would be so cool.

Personally I'd love to see Luke bring back the Jedi Brown. It actually kinda baffles me why so many fans have a problem with that look. Did they just OD on Jedi robes in the PT? I'm pretty fond of them myself.

You could be a little less of a jerk in your response I think. It's not the best photoshop ever, I get it.

I'm personally for the brown robes myself.

I don't like it because I think the PT Jedi robes were too monkish. Not only that but there is absolutely no indication that Obi-Wan's outfit in ANH was supposed to be a Jedi outfit. It looked just like Uncle Owen's outfit or anyone else's on Tatooine. Don't ask me why GL decided to have them be Jedi robes, but I don't want them to be anymore. I don't have problems with Jedi robes being threadbare or course, but I'd like something tighter or sleeker, like Luke's Jedi robes in ROTJ. The billowy sleeves and stuff just don't fit in with what the OT depicted as a "Jedi," personally. Look at TPM's concept art for Obi-Wan (later used for two Hasbro "training outfit" figures)...it looks nothing like Tatooine garb, and it's way better, IMO.

Now, don't get me wrong. I don't have a problem with the PT Jedi robes for the PT. But now, in the ST, with a new Jedi Order...I'd prefer they not make a reappearance.

Who's that second illustration? I'm getting Adam Driver as a Sith vibes from it!

The new costume designer did a great job updating the original Star Trek uniforms for those new movies, so I'm really excited to see what he comes up with for Star Wars. It'll be interesting to see how he handles the Jedi and Luke especially.

It's Kyp Durron. He's a Jedi, but he's a bit edgier; he went dark briefly and even after he came back he was pretty dark and edgy. Of course, he's non-canon now, though. [face_sigh]

Oh, Kyp, interesting. That's not how I pictured him at all! I remember him as a slightly annoying teenager from KJA's trilogy! Thanks for the info!

you mean besides the fact that Anakin and Yoda both wear the same outfit? Or the fact that Luke's is just a shorter version of Ben's and black?

Yeah, I'd say that's probably it. I always loved old Obi-Wan's robes in Star Wars, but by the time AOTC came out it was just a sea of browns and beiges. It was like they all shopped at the GAP or something. Lucas actually had a pretty good reasoning behind the robe and tunic look for the Jedi (fostering an image of humility), but still.

Personally, I always imagined old Obi-Wan's robes as being very monastic. The sort of thing Jedi wore on their down time or during meditation. I never thought they'd carry that look out into the field. I imagined the outfit Luke wears under his robe and tunic in ROTJ as what they probably wore in action.

It seems like you heard someone say "Luke should have a glowing lifesaver" and you thought they meant like the candy, so you put a big white Lifesaver on his chest.

In art class we critique people's artwork. I recommend growing a thicker skin if you're going to choose to put up your work for untold numbers of strangers to see.

Except that Yoda was wearing a similar outfit in ESB, and he was on a completely different planet with a completely different environment.

There's a difference between giving feedback/constructive criticism and being insulting. A fine line, yes, but a line nonetheless.

I love Starkiller's final outfit, but that's an outfit that's designed to fit close to a lean, svelte body, like a tailored leather glove. I think an older man, with a little size to him, needs to have something roomier and more flattering.
