ST Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) in Episode VII

I doubt it - Kathleen Kennedy has given every indication that they're really looking to make the spin-offs their own thing. They may use existing characters (Boba, young Han Solo, etc.), but probably won't be set during the time of the ST. I just don't see old Luke being in the spin-offs, and if there's one character I don't see them recasting for a spin-off, it's Luke.

 

Just a thought, but perhaps the reason why Tatooine will be featured again will be completely unrelated to past Skywalker dealings, etc. Whose to say that Luke will even be there?

 

That's essentially the scene I'd like to see Episode IX end on.

Mark Hamill making a big screen comeback? Mark's character in The Secret Service can be seen at 1:17 in this trailer. (really brief, tied to a chair while guy is reloading)



Funnily enough, in the comic, Mark Hamill himself gets kidnapped by terrorists and dies in the opening of the first issue, but they filled Mark's literal role in the comic with a brand new character created for the film, who is played by Mark Hamill. And apparently this character won't die, he'll play a major role in the storyline.

 

Whatever that movie is, I want to see it. NOW!

Just found this recent pic on twitter from Chelsea Hamill's graduation. Mark is looking great, but if they ever do a movie between VI and VII or a Luke spinoff, they should hire his son Nathan, almost scary how much he looks like young Luke:
