i havn't seen much build up for this film. Marvel really did a good job last year building up to Guardians of the Galaxy without much expectation and turned it into a hit. I've seen a lot less advertisement and hype for this film than Ant Man .
Didn't this director get fired from Star Wars because it was revealed he acted horribly on the set of this movie?
Howard would probably be a hit nowadays , just have him smoking some weed and give him a Boston accent . . .
True. He does look like an idiot and I'm sure that everyone that emailed him told him so. All the negative reviews of this film have killed off any excitement I have for it. Now, I'll be going into this film to why it failed to epically. I'm wondering if I'll hate it or just shake my head in disappointment.
There were reports too that Lucasfilm got word on all the production Trank had with Fox on Fantastic four. I'm remember I was at Star Wars Celebration this year sitting in the panel for Garth Edwards and Josh Trank to introduce their films. Here's a picture I took at the Star Wars Celebration panel that notes Trank's appearance.
Trank was suppose to direct another anthology film. Supposedly the young Han Solo movie that's being rumored. Obviously, it would have been announced at Star Wars Celebration if he wasn't fired.
And now it gets better... Well I guess box office will be the final verdict on the film. Well, hell is it not over already? Even if the film has a good opening, it doesn't have legs, not even in over seas market. So likely hood of a sequel is dead in the water. Sony decides to be defiant and keep the rights to a franchise that doesn't make them any money, and with this last effort has embarrassed them in more ways than one. There will not be another attempt at a movie for years, if any attempt is made at all. So all they'll be doing is letting the contract run out. I don't see even having a Spider-Man type deal be worth anything at this point. The F4 are no Spider-Man. Sony have zero leverage in any discussion, while Marvel has all the cards. I think some have asked why Marvel would want the 4 anyway? Even if they didn't, do you honestly think they don't want GALACTUS, SILVER SUFER,or DOOM. Feige mouth is probably watering at the prospects of those 3 in Infinity War. Which is why I actually believe that if things were to move quickly the chances of DOOM in Dr.Strange would be pretty high. The only real question is how will it take? Weeks or months? I don't think it will be years before the F4 make their way back home.
Didn't World War Z get slated for reshoots and that it was nothing like its source material and go on to do well in the box office because of all the (bad) publicity it received?
And maybe that will work in F4's favor as well. There's nothing better than low expectations. Just ask any of my ex-girlfriends.
