A/N: This is my first foray into f/f. It is an extrapolation from Marvel's What If...? animated series. I've been writing here for a long time and this is the first time I've felt like I have a genuine OTP. My inspiration has been high and most of if can be posted here. Let's see how it goes.

    Dresses

“You'll never guess what Bucky asked me this morning?” Peggy said, excitedly.

“Probably not,” Nat said, cupping her mug and taking a sip of coffee.

“He asked me why he never sees me in a dress anymore.

Nat shrugged, but said nothing while taking another sip from her cup.

“You don't think that's weird?” Peggy pressed.

“Not really,” Nat replied. “You're not a man. Just a larger woman. Didn't you say he crushed on you for a while back in the 40s? Maybe he still seeing something he likes. He just wants you to be the woman you were.”

“Really?” Peggy shaking her head in disbelief. “After everything? He tried to kill us!”

I”m not denying that,” the blonde said. “But he has a point. You don't wear dresses anymore.”

“Neither do you,” Peggy retorted, mildy indignant.

“I never wore dresses, Peggy,” Nat said, seriously. “If I ever did, it was as a child. I wasn't a child for long.”

“You could try it?” Peggy suggested, leaning toward her with a mischievous smile . “I would pay good trading cards to see that.”

“Who's encouraging who here? This was Bucky's idea. Not mine.”

“He has a point,” Peggy said, grinning at throwing her lover's words back at her.

“Yeah, I guess he does,” Nat said, knitting her eyebrows in consternation.

“We should go shopping,” Peggy declared, her former pique dissipating in favor of the excited of going to the mall with her girlfriend. “I think it would be great fun to see you trying on different dresses.”

“No hanky-panky in the dressing room, Cap,” Nat said, narrowing her eyes, teasingly.

“Like I'm the one who needs the reminder.”

“I can't be held responsible for what the cleavage does to me,” Nat continued.

“You will behave yourself at the mall and that's final.”

“You will buy a dress of my choice and wear it back here for Bucky to see. Not that I want you to tease him too much. You're my girl.”

    “No doubt about that.”

    Pancakes

When Nat entered the commissary at the Avengers compound she found Peggy sitting at a far table, alone, starring at a large pile of pancakes. She could see that syrup had already been liberally poured over the stack and pooled in the plate underneath. Peggy appeared perplexed as she appraised the mound of doughy discs.

“Something wrong,” Natasha said, approaching the table. “You look confused.”

Captain Carter raised both eyebrows and let the fall quickly as she blew out a sigh. “I took too many. I can’t eat all of this.”

Nat smiled that beautiful smile and sat down opposite her lover. “I’ve seen you put away more than that and not so gracefully. What’s happening here?”

“Seriously, Nat?” Peggy said, feigning offense.

“Yes, seriously. I’ve seen you wolf down at least half as many more than are on that plate.”

“So?” the brown eyed woman said. “What's the problem?”

Nat grinned, mischievously. She loved jerking Peggy chain. “No problem at all. I’d be happy to share them with you. But only if you feed me the first couple of bites.”

Peggy’s shoulders slumped in resignation. It wasn’t that she couldn’t deny Natasha. She didn’t want to. “Bruce is right over there. You sure you want to do this?”

Natasha eyes narrowed and she pinned Peggy with a desirous gaze. “Get to cutting, Cap. I haven’t had breakfast. Not mention I’m really looking forward to your reaction when you offer me that first bite.”

“So am I,” Peggy said, taking the fork from the table and cutting into the sticky stack.
