OOC Mass Effect 4: The FAQ/OOC/Discussion Thread

Welcome to my world. Right now I'm thinking a Salarian author with a serious case of writer's block, simply because it'd be so easy to relate to (well, the writer's block part).

I think I'll just go smoke and listen to Plastikman. That usually helps.

 

First suggestion: find a role, and make it the quintessential of that role. For example, a lawyer. Atticus Finch. A killer. Hannibal Lecter.
Then give him feet of clay, and see what happens from there.

 

Well, clearly he loses the ability to walk.

Great writeup Saint, but if I can make a minor alteration, humanity hasn't known about other galactic civilizations for 150 years, more like 40 by the time of Mass Effect 4.

EDIT: Which if you ask me is entirely too short of a timeframe, I've thought so since ME1.

Otherwise, I do rather like TSG and Sirak's little "mirror image" characters in the two threads. It brought home to me something I realised only when playing hardcore Renegade on ME 2 recently: all the Paragon moments have so much more significance -- echoes, different foci, you name it -- if you've played Renegade as well. It really is a case of "if you play it differently, your enjoyment of your first run is even more enhanced." Man, the writers on that thing were devoted.

Hey you guys a quick note re asari characters - they grow up really slowly compared to humans. remember that Liara is basically the equivalent of an early-20s human at age 104 (in great own words, she's considered "little more than a child").

I'm home for the holidays that week, so if I can tear myself away from my new guitar, works fine

 

Red and Blue . . . Aleena is game again! My second character around here who I do reprise under a different GM . . . when do we actually start?

 

Next week, I shall find, if it ever happens, intereacting with identical characts in very different galaxies to be most interesting.

 

I think ten years change . . . a lot. So they won´t be that identical, will they? I am looking forward to my first try in dual character play with the same character, too.

 

I've been writing out Thane-esque flashback sequences in the first person of my character to tide myself over until this comes out, it's like I'm waiting for the actual release of a computer game

 

Quick update: Blue Thread is almost done, since I'm working dedicated on one before I do the other. Probably I'll put Blue out soon as it's done on the off chance that people heading for finals can get a quick post or two in -- maybe tonight, tomorrow. Red Thread should be out on or before Wednesday.

 

I can see it now:

Laser dot trembles on raised skin. Golden eyes defiant in the scope. Calibrations are incomplete.
