Am I the only one that could sense the instinctual tension going on between these two?

    ...........Good god man(or whatever)

Not only is she somewhere around half his age, but he is kind of madly in love already.

There are other kinds of relationships you know. The creators themselves have said brother sister, but I think better would the whole Master/Apprentice relationship common in eastern works. Her Obi_Wan if you will)

(Please disregard if thread is joke...though there should be a replacement rant about joke threads. Also, best not to bring the madness that is shipping here. I have lived through avatar and seen harry potter. Never again.)

Remember that movie that came before this series called ATTACK OF THE CLONES?,remember he married Padme and even in the cartoon movie of CW you could tell he was aching for her when they saw eachother via hologram in Jabba's Palace.Give it up its a dead issue. There is NO tention for romance between Anakin and Ahsoka and they clearly are like brother and sister.

^ I saw that coming from eighty miles away.

Anyone who brushes this off without serious thought is flaunting their own ignorance.

We'll approach this from an evolutionary standpoint. Now, looking at Anakin's apprentice, it's glaringly obvious she is developing a woman's body. And her species is aesthetically very, very similar to humans. Anakin's brain sees her as a fellow human albeit more exotic with a head dress.

I posted this in another forum:

I've seen it in all men with teenaged daughters. The mentality is this: on some level, you are attracted to one another, but there's the factors of conventions, morals, and in some cases, incest-resistant brain mechanisms to take into account, so it usually won't allow anything intimate. You tease playfully just for fun, and to relieve some of the tension. It's sexual tension. Ahsoka (close enough to a human) is good for child rearing, Anakin's instincts recognize this, and he has no choice but to react to it in some way during their interactions. Human nature. Disturbing? Maybe.

But this is indeed a disturbing universe.

I agree with everyone here, THERE IS NO TENSION, NOTHING OF THE SORT! That would contradict the entire saga! Anakin is deeply and passionately in love with his wife and ashoka is about 14 years old![face_shame_on_you][face_shame_on_you][face_shame_on_you]

Little did the former poster know... males are programmed by nature to commit adultery, mating with as many criteria-meeting females as possible for greater gene variation and spreading.

Yes, you are. The writers have made it very clear that they have a master/student relationship, and if anything, Anakin sees Ahsoka as a younger sister.

If you see anything else, then I would suggest you're finding what you want to find.

We've already had a similar thread on "shipping" between Anakin and Ahsoka, and how Padme will be jealous.

There is absolutely not a single shred of evidence to suggest any kind of romantic angle to their relationship.

    Add "siblings" into the mix:

Garth Maul balks at the revelation. The world he had known... gone, it was. Consumed by the -real- world quite dissimilar to Disney's interpretation. Hot blooded animals were just that... hot blooded. Love... was it a romantic savior or more nihilistic? It occurs to him gradually, as he falls into a cold sweat... love is a passion driven by desire to create offspring and maintain a pack for the survival of humanity. There is nothing eternal about a couple's love.

It is fleeting. Like life itself.

Want to know another secret, Garth Maul?

Ok, before, you were just being a little silly, but no you are being downright sexist.

Men are not robots pre-programed to adultery and pedophile. Seriously, there these people called monks who never have sex...ever.
Some men just go along with this stereotype to excuse their inexcusable behavior. It doesn't make it rue.

It also spreads the equally demeaning and untrue stereotype that men and women can't have any kind of relationship beyond a sexual one.

To reiterate, before I was mildly amused, now I am downright offended. Also, genetic-predeterminism is utter bull-*expletive* that no scientist with half a brain believes.

Modern scientists with even half a brain are waking up to the fact that it's true. And when did I ever say there couldn't be a relationship beyond sex?

A sexually functional male has a code inside of him: Start a pack. Anakin did that with Padme basically. He felt attachment for her so that at least one of his conquests was under his protection and care. To make sure his bloodline still lasted.

All men worthy to help the human race survive eventually contract "One-itus", MercenaryAce.

One-itus?! Is that the condition of turning into a whipped, tame domesticated tool instead of a free man? I don't get it.

And Ahsoka is pretty cute! I mean, granted she's probably not old enough yet, but her voice is from a girl who is older and it's really cute, so that's what I like ;) I'm sure Anakin has thought of tapping that.

You've offered not a single piece of evidence to support your claim.

This seems close to spamming to me, and unless you can produce some evidence to sustain a debate on the matter (somehow), I'll be locking this thread.

Be careful, please, Garth. Your paradigm is about to shift.

    http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/23706832/

That is one example among many. Lock the thread if you must. I know you have a lot to think about now.

I've heard the "hardwired to cheat" argument for the last 20 years, this is nothing new.

We're also hardwired to kill our rivals, which explains why some people just can't be trusted on the soccer pitch. ;)

And yet, we have chiefly monogamous societies throughout human history that have flourished and produced many amazing moral, religious, legal, artistic, and scientific works and maintained productive societies.

But this forum is for LACWAC discussion, not a general philosophical debate, and so it is time to lock this thread.
