    Its same character that GL wanted but on a different version. And she could be the sexy Sith lady when she comes later in the timeline like the Sequel era.

    I can see us getting same trailer or a different trailer after Tales of Underworld is done and we close to end of the year. Just wait a few months. This show i think will come at beginning of 2026 like Bad Batch 2024

    With Marvel Rivals returning mass interest towards Marvel better than any MCU movie from the last few years, partially thanks to oversexualization of female characters (although not only of them), seems possible that SW can also somewhat go back in that regard eventually.

    1. I already addressed it in great detail many times. If you care so much - go look up my older posts. But don't dare accuse me of hypocrisy. Maul was barely a character in The Phantom Menace. He was an obstacle for the heroes with two lines of dialogue. His "resurrection" actually developed the character, and new and interesting things have been done with him. Ventress is a fully fleshed out, developed character with a complete character arc, that naturally ended with her death. What new things are they gonna do with her resurrected? Oh, she is gonna protect some another Order 66 survivor and fight an inquisitor and kill some stormtroopers! Or she is gonna clumsily show up as a cameo in some live-action show 30 years after she was organically relevant to the story! What a novel concept. We definitely have never seen that before. Very interesting. As far as this particular Maul show goes, yeah, there is like a 15 years gap in his story, where he goes from being a crime lord to being a stranded hobo on Malachor. That has not been addressed ever, and it needs to be addressed in order to have Maul's story fully fleshed out. Like Ventress had her story fully fleshed out already.
    2. Maul was "resurrected" by Lucas, not Filoni. I thought after over a decade, people have learned that already—but apparently not. And he was not really resurrected anyway, not in the true sense of the word, he survived his injuries from narrative standpoint. He never died. Whereas Filoni literally resurrected Ventress from the dead, who had been dead for months and buried. This is by far the biggest problem I have with it, and why it's dumb as hell, and it not only ruins her character and Dark Disciple in particular, but it is contradictory to the rest of Star Wars, both thematically and narratively on a bigger level. So far the only one who has done something similarly stupid has been JJ with Palpatine. Filoni has been doing stupid **** all the time ever since there was no George around to wrangle him, and resurrecting Ventress literally for no reason, instead of simply finishing Clone Wars and adapting Dark Disciple, is one of them.

    Really hoping they do a prologue of Son of Dathomir - I feel like that would be pretty vital to laying out the criminal underworld landscape.

    Apparently it directly addresses dark disciple and a number of fans in the know are happy with the story ..much better than ignoring it..we are getting Quinlan Vos too
    Ps I have never read the books but in my own personal head canon clone wars 2d is still very much part of the story so ventress has already survived plunging of a cliff on Yavin thanks to Anakin

    Thats a good idea, perhaps even a Darth Plagueis flashback, of course Maul wouldn't know him but Sidious perhaps tells a story about him like he told Anakin.

    To be honest, Ventress died in Clone Wars as well while trying to save Quinlan Vos from Dooku's sneak attack, but they brought her back.
    Lucas decided to remove him from story too early, then he understood his mistake and brought him back in Clone Wars. Maul should've been the Vader equivalent of Prequels, but Lucas probably wanted to use Maul for highlight Kenobi's name during that era since Kenobi needed fame in Jedi Order since he wasn't Chosen One like Anakin.
    True, so I guess its a similar situation like Ahsoka, she is a part time Jedi, one moment says she isn't a Jedi then says she is a Jedi.
    Filoni didn't resurrect Maul, Lucas did. They specifically said that, Filoni probably didn't even like that decision at first as he was implying that while explaining how it happened that Lucas told him to resurrect Maul.
    Its really simple, Lucas decided to remove Maul in the first movie too early since he wasn't expecting that Maul will be one of the major things that fans liked in Episode I, then Lucas decided to bring Maul back. Lucas probably wouldn't remove Maul in the first movie if he knew that.

    Which isn’t a good thing. A character or person in general can look sexy with plenty of clothes on. And also they don’t need to be wearing spandex.

    what I am getting at is I am not a fan of oversexualization. But I’ll hopefully leave it here as this thread isn’t the place for it until they start sexualizing Star Wars characters more.

    This is the difference between events in the EU and events in canon. I saw Maul cut in half on the big screen. I've never read Dark Disciple. Luckily, I have a pretty good ability to suspend my disbelief, if canon says Maul resurrected himself with some dark force and a bunch of hate, I'll buy it despite being cut in half. It doesn't mean I need more Maul, or more clones. After seeing the way Maul treated his last apprentice, his brother, I'm not excited to see him someone new. Just me, but I think there could, possibly be some different areas of the GFFA to animate.

    And what is Maul going to do in this new show? He's a crime lord. So what, he's going to direct his gangs to rob from the Banking Clan and/or steal from galactic Spice Mines? Yeah, I get it, the underworld is an unexplored area for the franchise for the most part, but is it just going to be a typical gangster show echoing the cliche of The Sopranos, Goodfellas, Godfather, etc.? Whatever. Again, this show isn't my cup of tea, but I'll still wind up watching it because it's there. Everyone has characters in the franchise that they're fond of. Personally, I would rather have more of Ventress than Maul now. Ventress wasn't a one-dimensional character and she certainly had her share of flaws; and yes, you can thank Dave Filoni and Lucas for that. Maul? That's debatable IMO. He's going from a Sith Apprentice to a crime lord. Ok.

    If I were a betting man I would say whoever his twi’lek apprentice is will bring enough freshness to the show to make it worthwhile
    I like maul but I am far more intrested in new characters than him just because that’s what always interests me about shows. Same was true for the bad batch Same was true if Andor

    We will see more about Order 66, Inquisitors, Crime Syndicates, Dathomir, and perhaps flashbacks about Maul's trainings with Sidious;

    or even a Plagueis flashback who knows.

    I doubt this show will be about Maul and his apprentice or clones only.

    Seeing new locations such as this also an option;

    I hope this is actually a series about the underworld and Maul does some sketchy stuff.

    Dathomir is really the only thing that would pique my curiosity for obvious reasons as mentioned above. No one can convince me otherwise that Order 66 hasn't been beaten more times around the bush than anyone can count. Just how many different perspectives do we need to have?

    There is also a potential battle vs Vader.

    Yes, but this show deals with him when he was a crime Lord and Rebels hints at Maul afraid to face Darth Vader, sounds like experience.

    So in other words, this would take place in between the Twilight of the Apprentice episode of Rebels and that Kenobi episode towards the end of it.
