Qi'ra is not very pro-Dark Side philosophy wise, she mainly advocates for cooperation (and that approach backfired with the Knights). Also regarding cooperation - with Maul's offer of alliance to Ahsoka and the whole deal with Jedi and Sith holocrons in Rebels season 3, maybe he will continue to experiment with Dark and Light sides combination, and his approach to the new apprentice will be somewhat similar to Palpatine's approach to Mara.
From the what sounds like and from what seen. Looks to be a father and daughter dark side relationship.
I consider New Canon Darth Maul a combination of Prince Xizor and Darth Krayt in Legends he wasnt a true Sith but in the New Canon it seems that he was a legitimate Sith chosen by Palpatine his criminal organization Crimson Dawn replaces Black Sun in terms of power and his new apprentice is possibly Darth Talon In addition his death in Rebels reminds me of Darth Krayt fight with Obi Wan in Legacy
We do know that Prince Xizor exists in canon though from the Crimson Dawn comics, so that seems a like a story that they're holding on to tell. Maybe in this show.
I strongly suspect that Charles Soule mentioned Xizor in his Crimson Reign comic because he knew or was told that the Prince was coming in an animated project.
The same scene did set up Star Wars Outlaws. It does feel like a long time between that namedrop and the show, but I suppose some of these things do have long production times.
Yes i think like with Darth Vader vs Prince Xizor in legends we will get Maul vs Prince Xizor in canon. He wants Black Sun out of Maul's control.
I didnt know Xizor already exists in the New Canon i dont read the new Comics even if he exists i doubt he is as relevant as he was in the EU Maul has clearly taken his place in the New Canon
Given we know Xizor is around in the Syndicate war when Maul has long been dead and deposed for even longer, I wonder how he would survive such a confrontation. It would be interesting to see
My speculation when this show begins Prince Xizor is young Falleen and Maul makes him the leader after killing the last Black Sun leader from Clone Wars and Prince Xizor only betrays Maul when he sees the fall coming for Maul.
I think some Clone Wars and Bad Batch characters will get their Final end. Also could we get some beef with Jabba in this show. As Jabba is Maul's biggest rival in the criminal Underworld.
Especially since the point with New canon was never to jettison the older material (except for what doesn't mesh with the ST) but really to give it a cleaner timeline that isn't as bogged down by a decade of backstory getting contradicted by the Prequels.
Hmmmm....tricky...earlier you can't have Xizor's death which is a big part of the story, and later and there is no Vader rivalry which is an even bigger part of the story. Might be better to go earlier and have Xizor live despite his loss, if choosing between the two.
