MCR Are So High On Themselves

I can't stand this new crap.

Bands nowadays suck ass, so I stick with the classics--AC/DC, Aerosmith, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Motley Crue, etc. etc. etc.

 

Well Lee you're 22 so apparently you're too old to have an opinion on this.

I don't like MCR, not due to the fact that they're "emo", or because they're loved by teenage girls, but because *shock horror* I don't actually find their music at all interesting. It's just not to my taste.

I do love how people insult each other's music tastes though. It's only music, and everyone's different. Hell, I seriously doubt anyone here even knows who half of the bands I listen to are, let alone thinks of them as any good.

 

Ok, let me stab at this one.

Try me. People these days think they're bands are the most unknown, because that's what's fashionable for god knows what reason. But you know what? You've only heard of them because other people know about them. That's kind of just how it works. Unless it's your band, or your best friend's band, or they've never actually put out a CD...chances are, you're not the only person who knows them.

 

Who cares if you do or not? When I was 10 I loved Debbie Gibson, and now I don't. Oh noes!!

Don't tell me you judge all bands you like by whether you'll still like them when you're 50.

But it dose, affect it a little.

 

I'm about to turn 41 and I still listen to Baus Haus, Siouxsie and the Banshees and Sisters of Mercy just as I did when I was 20.

I just don't go out slam dancing anymore.

A few years ago I found a rare CD for sale on ebay of a one hit wonder type band from the 80s. You bet I smacked the Buy It Now button and paid the big bucks for it because I knew the likelihood of seeing again was nil.

And Cobra, I've heard some of the music you listen to and in fact have watched some videos for it so there

I usually get into stuff by experimentation anyway. I've met about 5 people IRL with a similar music taste to mine, only one of which I see frequently, so picking up tastes from them is pretty difficult.

The Cult, yes.

The Kvlt underground stuff, no.

 

Either Progressive, Black, Bleak, Death, Doom, Female Fronted, Grind, Acoustic, Power or Pompous Metal, or some mix of the above.

 

That's quite a list, Cobra. You remind me of one of my friends. Celtic Frost is playing in Worcester coming up pretty soon, sometime this month I believe.

 

I've not heard their music but I am curious as to how they think they'll save the world. Does their music bring us issues or something?

mcr is so camp and dramatic. the only people who don't like them are the ones who take them seriously.

Nothings wrong with Epiphone, I have one resting in my lap right now. It's just the whole band is sponsored by a company so it makes it look as if the company plastered together a group of muscians to make a walking billboard. Next you'll see a band sponsored by Lipton Iced Tea or some sort of feminie products. I can't take them SRSLY.
