ST Meryl Streep as Leia

So, what do you think?

Carrie unfortunatly has gone, could she be replaced by Meryl Streep in the Episode 9?

They are not clones, of course....

But they were close friends, they had about the same age (60 and 67) and had the same look.
Meryl is an incredible actress and could play the role as an homage for Carrie.

Killing Leia is not the right thing to do. They brought her back for the Sequel Trilogy and wrote her an important arc as the mother of the main villain.

Using a CGI doll for the entire movie or writing her out of the story would destroy everything Carrie has already done for the Sequel Trilogy... I really wouldn't care about this change.

Would you?

 

I'd prefer a good cgi over Meryl Steep or any actor myself.. NOPE!

I do tend to think that whatever allows them to use the most of what Carrie Fisher worked on with Episode VIII is the best route to take.

 

Yes I would support this. I think they could make meryl look pretty close with styling, and cgi as the rest.

Public curiosity to see the film would go through the roof if it was a revealed 'meryl Streep helped stand in for her friend Carrie fisher to finish the role.'.

Actually, I've heard the scenes Carrie did for Episode 8 didn't close her arc. She would still have something very important to do. A face to face with Luke or Kylo.

As I said, the character (and the saga) deserved to be as good as possible. Reducing Leia is truly sad........
