this is a medical facilty...they will do what they can to try and revive her...AFTER that then they come out and tell them that they couldnt..but that the twins are alive...

That makes more sense. So it's like the Harcopy report happens, they leave while the droids try to take care of things, but the droids aren't able to, and the picture is one of the droids telling them that.

motee - awesome but you know that. interesting theory re: jedi "code" perhaps desensitizing the jedi's sensitivity, if you will, to the future and the dark side. poor yoda, poor padme, poor obiwan and how difficult this must be for qui gon to see/sense but not being able to physically do anything about destiny.

Please don't flame me for this question - I've tried searching the boards because I KNOW someone must've brought this up - but I can't find anything. Ok, remember when Luke leaves Dagoba to help Han & Leia at Cloud City - ObiWan's spirit says "That boy is our only hope" and Yoda says, "No - there is another". But if ObiWan is present at the birth of Luke & Leia he would already know that there is another. Was this explained somewhere & if so point me to it because I'm wracking my brain about it in light of this new spoiler info.

Remember that the japor snippet is meant to give good fortune to whomever has it. Interesting that Obi-Wan ends up with it.

She hands him the japor snippet. Doesn't say he ends up with it. ;)

This death scene could go both ways.

If Natalie delivers the lines properly it could work. However, like most of her performances so far, I doubt this will better. Is it possible that the picture of the droid conversing with Yoda and Obi-Wan replaced the original scene with Obi-Wan beside Padme as she dies?

    Just wondering............................

like most of her performances so far

    You mean like:

    The Professional
    Beautiful Girls
    Cold Mountain
    Garden State
    Closer

I agree, she is a very talented actress, if that is what you meant.

    Spot on views, Holocron Collector.

Exactly how I view these issues too, but you've summed them up far better than I could.

    =D=

Also, basically, either regime - Jedi or Sith, by it's very nature is imposing a formula or code to the Force to a certain degree.

Like: "We must always do this, we must always react and behave in this manner to this certain situation. We must never do this."
That is not listening to the will of the Force - that is trying to make the Force fit a predetermined model.
If the will of the Force says the chosen one becomes a Sith, then don't lose faith.
What do Obi and Yoda do? - head out on a mission to "destroy" the Sith.
The Force was already busy tipping the balance back in their favour - that was what Yoda and Obi should have been focusing on.

The Force is a fluid thing, always changing - QGJ was savvy to that.
If his belief in the moment went against the rule book, then so be it.
Yoda played too much by the rules.
    There are no rules.

Look at the pauses between Padme's words as she dies. I certainly hope Natalie doesn't deliver her last words like that. I can just imagine her dlivering those lines like that(not to say she's a bad actress) and then having her head fall backwars all stupid like Anakin's mom in AOTC(which has to be one of the most ridiculously laughable dying "head-falls" that I've ever seen). Putting pauses between the words of dying characters is one of dumbest things that a writer can write and a director can allow. Entirely lame. I hope she just says the words while sounding ill or something. Pauses suck.

Yeah, Shmi dying was the worst death ever... oh wait, it looks almost exactly like what it looks like when real people die when their head is not supported. Doesn't reality suck?! ;)

You've got to admit(though I suppose you don't have to) that the Shmi's head faling backwars was a little fast. Seriously. It's hard to say that it didn't come off as a bit comical. You can't make an argument that that's what someone's head would do in real life. Star Wars is obviously not real life; it's a movie, so I'd think some attempt would have been made to keep people IN the sad moment instead of having that sudden harsh dropping of her head. It's like a little kid you says "Mommy, I want to be a stuntman!" and then he pretends to get shot and does this horrible fake death scene with overly dramatic, sudden body "limpification". Come on. It was bad.

It would seem that YOU (the bashers) are the ones who actually get bent out of shape about Star Wars. Those of us who still enjoy the movies would seem to be the opposite of bent out of shape... we are having a blast.

Whatever your opinion is of the head falling it doesn't make it appear to all the way it does to you. I can tell you that it doesn't happen anything like what you see in most movies. People don't say something profound, they don't have time to look at you one last time... they go limp and die.

"If it's a girl... we were going to name her Leia..." says Padme as the birth of her daughter begins.

A medical droid approaches Padme. "It's a boy," it says. Padme reaches out and touches the infants head.

"Luke," she says. A second baby is baby is brought to her by the droid.

"It's a girl," says the droid. But Padme is no longer her self - she is delirious.

"Anakin!" she suddenly cries. Obi-Wan comforts her, telling her that Anakin is not there and that she has had twins.

Padme begins to talk, drifiting in and out of consciousness. "Anakin, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry... Anakin, please... I love you..."

Yoda enters the room and Obi-Wan shakes his head in sorrow. But then Padme regains consciousness for one last time and puts something into Kenobi's hand.

"Obi-Wan, there is still good in him... I know... there... is... still... "

As Padme Amidala Skywalker dies, Obi-Wan opens his hand and gazes upon a jaipor snippet.

I edited my "bent of shape" comment when I saw a winking face emoticon after your comment. I don't doubt that actual death is very un-movie like. I'm just saying that that shot took me out of the movie. SW movies clearly don't represent real life. My opinion(doesn't have to be yours) is that it seemed inappropriate. Anyway, this argument's off topic, so I'll be done.

Edit: Accidental typo made me sound like an a-hole.
