After an extensive search on the subject, I must ask here. Can Premiere (6.0) open MIDI files? Any attempts I've made have failed, and I can't find anything in either the help file or the manual.

If not, is there a program that can convert MIDIs to another type of file? I can't get Audacity to work. It will open the file, but won't play it.

    Many thanks!

EDIT: Should have specified. I've tried both Type 1 and Type 0.

To my knowledge Premiere cannot import MIDI files. Try www.midi2wav.com to get a more friendly format.

Thanks though, I'll give this a run through.

Any sound recorder will do it. Hit record, and then play your MIDI file

I think that Anvil Studio can do the conversion from MIDI to WAV...

Get an 1/8" to 1/8" m/m cable 1 foot long from RadioShack and plug one into your headphones and one into your microphone.

Then play ure MIDI file and open Sound Recorder and hit "record".

Works for anything up to 60 seconds ;)

I always go MIDI>MOD>WAV. It sounds better and can be done for free if you find the right software. I can't remember the name of the program(s), though.
