'Milton Keynes Ice Skating Meet-17/18th Decemeber

Right, if we're going to do this, we really had better get on with it. If there's only going to be 5 of us at the bowling then we'll only need one lane and don't have to book, but if anyone else is planning on coming, please tell me now, otherwise we may encounter difficulties.

Also, if theres only going to be 6 of us all together, is there any point having an actually party? Might not a meal be more sensible?

 

I'll ask my mate darth-dom if he can make it too. I'll let you know ASAP.

If there are only 6-7 of us, then a party may seem a bit excessive, but we could have a meal together somewhere afterwards. I know there are quite alot of restaurants around the complex, so we should be able to find somewhere that agrees with us all.

 

Assuming I'm free on the day (and right now I've really no idea) I'll be going with bells on! It should be good! But those seeking adrenaline and danger can rest assured, Bowling can be dangerous. You can have trecherous bowling shoes, and crazy bowling balls that whack you on the finger... Oh the pain. Yes, I'm speakingh from experience there... *cries*

And if there are a good number then a party would be grand, but otherwise a meal etc would be just as good.

 

Right, this need bringing back to life.

I have discovered today that there will be an ice-rink at Centre:MK (same place as Collectormania) at the same time as we plan to do this. There is also a christmas fair and wonderland decorations. Furthermore, and this is best of all, Santa will me there!

These events are normally about £6 each I believe.

So thats just another slightly more Christmasy option...

 

Oh that actually sounds like a lot of fun that. Haven't done anything like that in oh almost 20 years

At least now i will be able to get there, as there will be things for my family to do while im meeting you lot.

Although, it is looking likely that the only time i can go is the first weekend in december (3rd & 4th)

Other wise i will have to take a massive bus journey, and so the amount of time i would get there wouldnt be worth while.

 

It possible that I'm the other way around

Term doesn't end for me until the 16th, so I'll still be in Bristol until then. Poodoo!

You'd probably have considerable difficulty finding a hall or such for a party in December. I know from experience, places get booked up fast with Christmas paries - especially at weekends. I can't think of anywhere in CMK that would really be suitable either.

A meal would be more practical, but make sure you phone and book ahead just to make sure. There are some quite nice places to eat in Xscape. My personal favourites are Ask (Italian) and La Tasca (tapas).

 

And I think we may have to scrap the party, as a party with 6 people is a bit...well...pointless. So lets say we have a meal instead.

Also, what's people's verdict on bowling v. Ice skating?

Maybe you could come up with one of your supurb maps of MK to show us where each thing will be!



Also, im going ice skating on the 30th november (wednesday) I cant remember exactly where, but when i find out ill put it up here, incase anyone is or can go that day.

I think ice skating would be cool, seeing as its a bit more christmasy than bowling.


P.S On 30th november (wednesday) i wil be skating at slough ice arena, if anyone is planning on going, ill be happy to meet up

Yep, despite going to MK for every Collectormania I still find it confussing and strange

I'm still up for coming up for the meet, and I'll ask Ant (darth-dom) what his situation is too but hopefully he can make it.
I've never been ice skating and fear that I would make a total wazzock of myself and I always fear about getting a finger sliced off or something, so Bowling is my preference but if skating gets the vote then I will suffer

I've never been to MK before.

 

Would have loved to come along and meet some people but Im in London on the 10th and 11th at an anime meet up and to see some friends before Xmas, Will try and make it to another meet in the future hope everyone has fun ^_^

 

I didn't read the recent posts properly so I've now just read that the ice skating rink is inside the shopping centre
My God, that's worse because then everyone can see me make a wazzock of myself
But that would be good fun so I'll go with the flow
I do have one request, could you make me a pair of carbonfibre-lined gloves Serena??

Other places to eat:
Nandos (someone has to choose the 'extra hot' option)
The place that claims to sell the best burgers you've ever tasted (the name escapes me)
Zizzi (Italian too)

 

Ooh yes, Zizzi is nice too. Haven't tried the other ones.
