Saga Misheard lines of the saga

I'm sure everybody has had more than a couple of instances in which we've misheard a couple of lines in one or more of the films, which in turn can completely and hilariously change the context of a scene.

A couple of my favorite mishearings from ROTJ.

Yoda: "No more training to do you require, I already know you."

C-3PO: "R2! This is no time for aerobics!"

 

"I think you overdid it!" sounded like "I think he overdid it."
Qui-Gon's calming touch went way over my head, and I thought Obi-Wan was referring to Jar Jar just burning himself out.


Can't think of others, but I remember there were plenty.

Oh yeah, "Scruffy looking Nerf herder." sounded to me like "Scruffy looking nerve-hurter."
Referencing Leia had hurt feelings

 

"Tell your sister, you've arrived."

 

I don't know what that pic refers to???

I can't think of any misheard lines off the top of my head, but I put the closed captioning on the last time I watched Empire Strikes Back, and I was surprised how many times Yoda said "Luke" before he passed away. It was actually pretty touching.

 

"As if millions of [oysters] suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced"

 

For years when I was a kid I thought when Anakin & Qui Gon were having a discussion in TPM and Anakin says "Has anyone ever been to em' all?" I always thought he said "A mall" like a shopping place

 

"Should be a little bit now" was what I thought Lando said in the middle of the space battle in Jedi. Yesterday I discovered he actually said "We're sure in the middle of it now."

 

"Good relations with the Wookiees I have"

 

usually i was confused when a specific name or location that i hadn't yet heard of or couldn't make out was dropped

one that tripped me up until only recently was

"The Jundland Wastes are not to be traveled lightly". for the longest time i thought he was saying something along the lines of
"A gentleman wastes enough to be traveled likely" - which of course never made any sense to me

Others included

"Our last master was Captain Antilles" - which i always heard as something like "Our last master was kept in entities"

"Well, the bounty hunter I ran into on Ord Mantell changed my mind" - i just never understand what he was saying until i learned what Ord Mantell was

many of Han's more mumbled lines were never clear to me when i was younger

 

I feel a bit like a moron for asking this

but does Yoda say "Always emotion is the future" or "Always in motion is the future" ? to this day I can't figure it out.

 

in motion. because you can't see which of the many future outcomes will happen. it's always changing. anakin saw his wife dying in childbirth and because he tried to stop it, he actually caused it. what you see in a vision is one of many possible futures so you shouldn't dwell on it. anakin was obsessed by it..

and "Good relations with the Wookiees I have" is the quote.

For the longest time I thought he said "maybe it's another girl" instead of drill.

 

After Lukes vision during his training in ESB Yoda says "Always in motion is the future".

I thought for years it was "Always emotion in the future". I thought Yoda meant he couldnt see past emotions and those emotions could swing either light or dark.

 

"Doesn't anyone have blasters around here!" which I heard as "Doesn't anyone have glasses..." I thought Finn wanted field glasses so he could see what else was coming. Or he wanted another drink.

 

Yep - Me too! Made sense at the time...

- Yoda, TESB

I thought that he claiming that he would take take Luke's light to Yoda.

 

When Obi-Wan and Anakin are getting zapped by the power couplings and Obi-Wan says "that was good," I always thought he said "that was short."

 

Lock a$* balls in attack position. I'd say a good 30 years went by before I learned it was S-foils.

 

A gentleman’s waste should not be traveled lightly

 

I think I always assumed I misheard this line: "R4, scramble code 5 to Coruscant care of the old folks home."

But, nope! Obi-Wan really said that.

 

That’s one of his best lines and nobody notices it
