Naming your game Zelda gave you an entire new and harder game . . . and those pesky sword-stealing orange bubbles, in the original NES. I always hoped using a certain name here would do somethign special. Still, why use their silly random names when you can make your own? Pooky, Fartmaster, Lesbianator, Groaner, and I don't know what else my friend once said he used in his games.

No, they did nothing to help her get a Viceroy. All they did was fight a Sith Lord.

And does it matter what the results of the Mandalorian Wars were? The important point is the Jedi did not interfere for the betterment of others, which proves how dead wrong you are. :)

Let's see Amidala get past Maul on her own.

Only because they had something more important to do...

I doubt he was that bad. It was because of the Republic's corruption that Naboo was invaded and nothing was done, I imagine he would support Palpatine for doing away with all of that. I wonder how Typho feels about this...

Don't be impertinent. You know exactly what I'm talking about: they were NOT there to fight her war or to capture the viceroy, but to take out the Sith Lord.

I hereby challange all those budding SW artists to paint a picture of Moff Panaka, complete with Tarkin-style uniform and recolored Naboo cap! :D

No they weren't. They had no idea that Maul was there. They were protecting the Queen. It's what Jedi do.

    Wrong again.

Did you forget the Jedi Council meeting that explicitly told us that the Jedi wanted to stay with the Queen so as to draw out this new Sith?

Where is it stated that Panaka became a Moff? I must've missed it.

AND Draw out the Queen's attacker Jello.

What magic land where the Jedi are not the defenders of the noble and true do you live in anyway? Sithville?

Suffice to say, the Jedi help the innocent and serve to protect those who need it. The Naboo should be grateful for their aid.

Inside the Worlds of the OT mentions a piece of art given to Palpatine by a "Moff Panaka." It doesn't explicitly state that TPM Panaka is the Moff, but most people seem to think that he is.

The Jedi are not superheroes. They exist primarily to serve the Force, THEN to serve others. It's the Force first, and if they feel that it better serves the Order not to help, then they don't.

I understand if you want them to be blind one-dimensional happy folks, but they quite simply aren't. Look at the material. Look at the facts. Take a jaunt through the Power of the Jedi sb, even.

Moff Panaka, and Grand Moff 4-8C. Only half-finished, though...

=D= I was hoping for something like that. Was that little green piece of fabric part of 4-8C's original Missions design, or did you come up with that?

Its something I came up with, based on something similar worn by Lon Isoto in the Rogue Squadron comics, since I wanted to differentiate him from a normal IG-unit and didn't want to just put the rankbars on his body. IIRC, the Mission image (I think there's one, but I could be misremembering) just shows a generic IG-88 picture.

If I ever redraw 4-8C, I'll add a bandoleer of rank cylinders. :D

Ah ha! I knew that looked familliar. Nice visual connection there.

    That's awesome =D=

It's also worth mentioning that Star Wars Galaxies features one "Colonel Panaka" of the RSF. I know SWG doesn't have much sway in the EU (though thanks to Abel's Lord of War, this might finally change), but still interesting...

    [image=http://swg.allakhazam.com/images/mobs/COL%20Panaka.jpg]
Note that SWG is set roughly 1 ABY.

A nephew, perhaps? Or maybe even a son. [face_thinking]

    :D

One note: I doubt that Panaka would still be wearing his neck-protector thingy while he was a Moff. However, the hat design could still work, because similarly large Imperial caps were seen in Dark Empire (I tried to modify his hat a bit to look more like those.)

More likely he was just a Colonel before he was promoted to Moff.

That's a pretty big jump, IMO. I would have expected him to at least be governor, or a higher rank like general, before becoming a Moff.

Here's the card image of 4-8C (which might actually be 4-ATC, if the article's author is to be believed... [face_thinking] )

He had two years--Galaxies is, what, 2 ABY, and ROTJ is 4 ABY? Commander Piett made Admiral within three years... ;)
