I like the “space opera” vibes in that shot, feels a step above what we’ve gotten so far from Disney+

 

Mon Mothma loves nature.

 

I like the idea that a planet covered in a city (I'm assuming that's Coruscant) would have relict bits of nature as decoration in some of the more ritzy buildings. Cool concept.

 

The production design on this show is through the roof (just like that tree).

 

What I really love about her overall story arc that continues from the PT is how she really is playing the Imperials as long as she can get away with it. They might suspect her by the time to show gets to its present time but she's far too smart for them.

 

I suspect she will be uncovered at some point and there will follow a dramatic escape/chase sequence.

 

Mando Armor, Twi'lek kalikori, anything else standing out here as easter-eggy?

Even though it was only a couple of scenes, Genevieve O'Reilly had such a strong start this week. She was well cast for ROTS and her return in Rogue One, but she was in such a limited capacity in both films, largely confined to evoking Caroline Blackiston's performance. I remember her voice work was good on Rebels as well, but she was never front and center the way she is here.

It's so wonderful to see her now bringing texture and conflict to Mon Mothma. Her confrontation with her husband was perhaps the strongest dramatic scene of the series thus far, and seeing her betray just a brief emotion was a really affecting moment.

 

Yeah forget to mention Kalikori while I noticed it before. Wookiee helmet and horn from Kashyyyk. Same helmet as Salporin used in ROTS. Not sure about the necklaces/rings have we seen them before?

 

Glad they're giving her a chance to expand on the her role!

 

Im seeing great conflict with her husband in future.

 

Maybe perhaps foreshadowing of a Doctor Aphra cameo?

Mon Mothma living large. The exquisite wardrobe, high class residence and a pimped out ride. Reppin’ the rebellion on style!

 

Maybe Mon is short for something. Monathema, Monamadonna, Monasipsales.

 

That’s the one.

 

Mon is actually a nickname cuz as a teen she had mono all the time. You heard it here first.
