Yeah, hopefully it won't be like his Star Trek in that regard. Lots of BIG heads so far! We must be seeing the previously unexplored big head sector of the galaxy.

Seriously, I'm trying to think of what creatures I want to see, but having just found out that the EU made rancors with wings completely derailed by brain. Now all I'm seeing is rancors with little Tinkerbell wings fluttering around in tu-tus.

Gonna copypaste my analysis from the other thread here:

Tall pink guy with the beard looks like some sort of Ithorian offshoot. The Charles Dance-lookalike in the blue cowl seems to be a Stennes (there was one of them in the cantina in Episode IV). Fat Bossk could be a Trandoshan, although the first thing that came to mind was a Houk. No idea about the rest.

Yeah, you could be right about the fat alien. He definitely has Trandoshan hands / claws. He also has what look like large tusks, but maybe this is a hitherto unseen Trandoshan feature.

Actually, you don't suppose it's a very old and fat Bossk?...

Would be cool to see a Krayt Dragon in the desert of Jakku or Tatooine.

That's not that bad of an idea. They could add some mo-cap dots to it and add some CG-animation in post to make it a unique looking beast that's similar to a horse, but different, maybe more amphibian or dragon like.

The aliens look great. It's too bad they're being advertised in a, "Look, we're going back to practical aliens, even though there were a slew of practical aliens in the last three movies" way.

I remember the first time I saw the cover of DOTJ with it
    http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Dawn_of_the_Jedi:_Force_War_4

Though it was in an earlier issue and my mind must have missed it.

I thought for a moment that character might be a Whiphid, only without tusks:

but given how different they are from either - maybe they are a new species.

I always liked the species variation across movies, like how we have several types of Walrus man (some with multiple spider eyes some with 2 big bulbous eyes) Makes it feel more real.

Giving Hammerhead lips is pretty funny, I dig it.

edit: p.s I refuse to call them by anything other than their old kenner names ;)

One of the main characters in Heir to the Jedi is one of these aliens. A female.

Big guy in the middle looks kinda like a Houk
