The following is my review of Comic-Con 2003 in Las Vegas.

The convention itself, was a ?4? on a scale of 1-10. Basically, we had one huge room with all the retail items, trading?etc. They really did not have many (or any) organized forums or presentations. The upstairs had various video games, or Role Playing games competition, but that was about it.

The highlight of my trip was hanging out and meeting various members of the 501st and Rebel Legion. We had people from Seattle, San Francisco, Arizona, even a few from Atlanta. The Neon Garrison of the 501st were a terrific group of people. They were very well organized and friendly. We took our group photo in front of the Welcome to Las Vegas Sign. That Sunday, our group (Jedi and Imperials) did a charity visit to the children?s ward of a major hospital. That was rewarding and made us feel good about ourselves.

A few personal highlights: some of you remember Alana Curry from Terminator 3. (she was at Grand Slam) Well, she sat right next to me on the airplane ride down. We had a nice chat, she was very friendly. And yes, I teased her significantly about the no speaking lines in the movie. She was a nice girl.

The Masquerade: This event was lots of fun, on Halloween night. It allowed me to meet our new member of the LA FF, Clawdike Daisy. She was really cool, and had a sweet costume. The masquerade had around 2,000 people there. The costumes ranged from a walking Ms. Pac-Man Machine, Bender, Betty Boob, Mo (from Simpsons,) The Tin Man, Optimus Prime, a ton of people from the S.W. Galaxies, including Yoda, many Jack Sparrows, and you could not swing a cat without hitting a provocatively dressed model/ porn star. I will post some photos later, but likely not on Yahoo. Many of the photos are NC 17. Other great costumes were Grandpa Monster, a stripper fire-woman, a great slave Leia, Predator, tons of scary demon like guys. Some people easily spent many months and thousands on their costumes. I was nominated (for Royal Guard) for Semi-professional best costume. Did not come close to winning. I did spend some quality time speaking with a voluptuous young attractive lady. I found out two days later, her name was Taylor Wayne. All I will say, is do a Google search for her name. And DO NOT do the search on your work computer. I have film to prove it!

Had a fun time hanging out with Silent Bob West. We had a cool lunch at some dive diner. Also, we had a good time meeting Clawdike Daisy. She should be attending some of our future meetings. Saw a ton of people from San Diego, some from O.C.

I met a great guy named Scott Swartz. Former professional wrestler, and current actor. He was the guy who pretends to beat up George Clooney in Ocean?s 11. Also, he was in Scorpion King, Spider Man, and a few others. I liked him for various reasons, mainly because he was one of the few Jewish pro-wrestlers who was proud of his heritage, and did not deny or hide it. (like Goldberg, Raven, Dean Malenko)

Play Station II had a cool booth where you were allowed to play that game where you do the Karate chopping, but they have an image of you in the game. That was pretty cool on a wide screen. I may buy the game. They have a camera which puts your image on the game.

The adult entertainment industry had a strong presence, but much more toned down compared to San Diego.

Overall, it was a fun time at the convention, but one day would have sufficed. I was fortunate to stay at mom and dads house, so no hotel cost. The whole weekend cost me under $45.00. (excluding ticket cost) If we go next year, we will stay with my folks and save the money. (or at Silent Bob's time share) Fun time, average convention. Oh yea, I played video Black Jack for 45 minutes. Turned $20.00 into $24.00. But, free Jawa Juice, 4 times.

One last note: Our 501st/RL Dinner was at Planet Hollywood. Fun event. Mary Franklin was there and had some nice words to say. She paid her respects to Chanel.
I don?t know the specifics, but many people bought the decals for the

because I am a total nerd and a geek, I will try to bring the photos on a CD Rom, and bring my lap tops to Lou's party. They are worth seeing!

Yea, if they had more name brand talent, it would have been more enjoyable.

I agree with Bubba, This comic con in general was average, but I believe the RL and 501st attendance made up for it. I had a blast hanging out with the different garrisons and seeing all the great costumes at the masquerade ball. There were about 5 other Silent Bobs and I saw one Jay. I'm glad I also got to meet Clawdite Daisy. She was cool to hang out with. Her Mara Jade Costume was great. Hope she comes to the Doo Dah Parade

I had wonderful time Meeting Silent Bob West and Darth Bubba. I will make my best effort to be at the next L.A gathering. I think there was a lot of inconsistencies in the Masquerade party. They told me my Mara Jade Costume was not home made enough to qualify but I saw some other entries that were clearly store bought like the hairy chested Wonder Woman. And the Silent Bob they entered was not even half as good as Silent Bob West's was. At least you had the real hat. My personal favotites was the crawling Yoda and Bender.
Anyway, I'm still glad I met up with you guys and work hours permitting, I want to go to the doo dah parade.
And Silent Bob, next time use a stronger glue for your beard. I'm still picking hair bits out of my head wrap.

Hey there. This is Dan from Mojave. I was at the Vegas con as well. It was nowhere near as good as San Diego, but I had a great time nonetheless. I took a good amount of pics, check em out here.

excellent photos!! Mine should be up either Friday or Saturday. I truly appreciated the NC 17 photos. Most of mine are like that.

The Blond in group one is Taylor Wayne. SHe is the one I advised doing a Google Search for, on your home computer. (not work)
