I was able to write 1643 words today.

Which brings my total up to 1760 words written in November.

The trick is just trying to get myself in the writing groove and to just keep writing.

Made 3500 words today, bringing the total to 13,750.

Killed my first pen! Managed right around 13,600 words. Thankfully, I provisioned for Nano with a new ten pack.

422 words today; 1353 total words so far. This is already my best year for NaNoWriMo, so I'm not fretting over the fact that I'm only hitting half of my daily word goal so far. Still, I hope to write a lot more tomorrow.

My laptop died on me today, so I'm writing on a laptop that I bought in 2007, and it keeps overheating and shutting down.

I wrote 632 words today, bringing my total to 1985.

Ugh, that's the worst. Any chance of getting the newer one fixed?

And I'm now up to a total of 1,624.

I’m off to a slowish start this month due to one RL thing and another, including a drive-by cold this weekend that left me feeling like not wanting to do much but play point-and-click adventure games all weekend. :p But I have managed to get up to 1038, which is pretty much on track. I am feeling perfectly well again now, so let’s see what the week holds! :D

I'll have to make do for a couple of weeks, because money's tight at the moment. However, I've been writing in short bursts lately, so it hasn't been too disruptive.

316 words today, bringing my total to 2301. Let's see how I do tomorrow.

611 words on my new story brings the total to 2843. Almost reached my goal of 3000 words and with this going nice I will write even more. 4000 or 5000 is now my new goal.

About how many words is a Typical Novel? I'd like to set a goal for a like 200+ page novel. At 300 words/page, how many words does that make? Um well, I'm kind of writing as I go. I started in the wee hours of November 1 in my bed with two lines, then the next day I wrote like a whole page. I'm terrible at setting goals and sticking with them. What do y'all think a reasonable goal for me would be? Yes I signed up at the official NaNoWrMo website, but haven't written in 3 days. I'm a terrible procrastinator. What would a good goal for me be?

I did buy another notebook to hold more of my Novel tonight.

A standard adult novel is 90,000 to 100,000 words, something that holds across a wide range of genres. YA fiction tends to be shorter.

Added 3250 words today, bringing my total to 19,000.

I'll shoot for 100,000, but 90,000 is acceptable for myself. Thanks @Mechalich

UPDATE! 2:38 AM CDT I'm up to 352 words!

My first novel when published came out to 304 pages with 99,800 words. Depending on length of words and paragraphs, 200 might be around 67-70K.

After starting firm in my plans, I had several days of awful mental health, but today is my renaissance and I’ve got three days of being home alone this week as my housemates are going to a family wedding.

Hit the 100 page mark, which translates into 25000 words. Halfway home!

Thanks, though I always try to storm out the gate, since fading down the stretch is almost inevitable. As to advice, well, in my case at least, Nano is mostly a matter of time management. It's about finding time that is solely for writing, knowing your pace when doing so, and then allotting enough of it. My longhand pace is 750-1000 words per hour. That means that to succeed I need to find around two hours each day dedicated to writing.

Me: 50,000 for a book? But that’s so…. oh. In one month. Stop judging, person who took six months to write a first draft. You never write that much in one month unless you have to kill a lot of people or are really desperate to get to one part of the plot.

    I’m impressed.
