I don't really see why it's so super awesome that Sisko punched Q. It doesn't even make sense. It shouldn't have even hurt the nigh-omnipotent non-corporeal being (he's not "really" John De Lancie, guys). Picard didn't try using violent coercion after "Farpoint" because it wouldn't have worked at all. And Sisko played right into Q's hands by allowing himself to be provoked so easily as Q himself points out.

And does anyone remember anything else about that episode?

    Exactly.

Vash brought back a Gamma quadrant artifact whilst Q was trying to lure her back, she manipulated Quark with promises of oomax to broker the item, which turns out to be dangerous. Q gets punched.

And the artifact turned out to be a space egg for a hatching energy being. Quark lost out on huge profits from that one.

Why would you punch Q in the face? He could magically conjure a Gorn to eat your face.

More likely he'd chuckle and say something sarcastic about you being hopelessly inferior to just about everything.

Pretty much. Even in "Deja Q" he was speaking of how humans were inferior. The episode also has probably one of my favorite exchanges in the series.

"What must I do to convince you people?"
    "Die."
Riker looks back to Worf with a smirk.
"Oh very clever Worf. Eat any good books lately?"

That episode probably has two of Q's funniest moments in all of his appearences in TNG/DS9/Voyager, that one and Guinan stabbing Q with a fork.

Hey, remember the first time we saw Guinan and Q together, she was waving her hands around like some kind of mystical gesture of warding off the evil eye; does anyone know what she thought that would accomplish? I get the impression that if he wanted to, Q would totally ignore that silly juju stuff and zap her into another dimension.

Goldberg has said that she believes Guinan is on Q's level, at least it is somewhat implied in Q-Who that Guinan's hand jiu jitsu is a defense against him. It was later established that the El Aurians can "listen" to the galaxy, as it is shown in Yesterday's Enterprise where she knows something is amiss with the galaxy. So if Guinan is in tune with the galaxy, she'd probably notice when Q shows up (and they are both exceptionally long lived, her 100s of years, him eternal) so they may have crossed paths and Guinan may know more than she lets on how to take care of him.

Basically, this is a long-winded way to say I wanna see a Guinan / Q episode in Star Trek: Discovery, like, yesterday.

Guinan is also split across multiple/all timelines via the Nexus- perhaps the reach of the Nexus is beyond the Q and this frightens him/them.

I'm slightly regretting not going now.

I almost went but schedules didn't work out and I don't really have the time.

But £55 to have a picture with William Shatner? That's very reasonable compared an autograph from Mark Hamill being £135.

There will be another one right?

Is that Trip doing the Vulcan salute? Looks like Quark and Jadzia in the middle, and I think Deanna Troi is over there toward the right.

Yep on Troi and Quark. Not sure about Jadzia, she has her faced turned. Looks like her, though. Harry is in the back row, one from the left.

Pretty sure that's Rom (Nog's dad?) behind Shat's left shoulder. (his left)

Also pretty sure that's Leeta (Dabo girl from DS9) standing to Troi's right.

Is that the Borg Queen on Troi's left?

    EDIT:

That's not Trip doing the Vulcan salute, it's Malcolm Reed. Name slip on my part, too.

But remember also in that episode, the way Q acted implied that he thought Guinan was a threat...

You're right, I forgot that. Didn't Q also make some comment about Picard having a dangerous creature on board?

    Ezri <3

Eric Pierpoint in the back row above Rom. I didn't know he was in a Star Trek. They could've had an Alien Nation reunion if Gary Graham aka Soval had shown up.

I like to believe Shatner, Koenig and Takei are in character, old habits die hard and all that, everyone else just seems happy to be there.

I know how everyone says they shouldn't have the original TOS actors in anything Star Trek anymore but, c'mon, some of them are still around. Hell even just seeing the photograph of all of them in Beyond was :_|[face_dancing]
