I looked for a thread on this but couldn't find one. Forgive me if this has been done before.

So does anyone remember the three TMNT games for the NES system? They were my favorites. They had great stories, great villains, great music, and great replay ability.

My favorite was probably TMNT 3: The Manhattan Project. But TMNT 2 wasn't far behind. TMNT 1 was unique enough to like too.

Leonardo was the best to use for the games because of the swords in my opinion. Not to mention that killer spinning move he had in the Manhatten Project. That move could take you through the entire game despite the loss of life it inflicted.

Are there any plans to release these games in some collection format like Zelda and Mega Man did? I think it would kick ass.

It would be cool if they rereleased these games. Or at least 1,2,3 and 4 from Super Nintendo. The 2nd game ended up sucking up at least 100 hours of my life at Chuck E Cheese when I was a kid.

As mentioned in the Sci-Fi forum, and many times here, I've had the first game for God knows how long and I still haven't beaten it. *head asplodes*

I think I'm the only one here who hasn't had a big problem with that level. I mean, I didn't beat it on the first try but after a little while I got passed it.

The first game was fun but very hard- I never made it past the first Turtlevan level, since i couldn't find anywhere i could access, except for a a sewer which had a jump that could not be made.

TMNT2 was awesome and gave me my first gamepad thumb blisters ;)

3 was fun, but not quite as memorable. 4 kicked ass though.

Don't forget the Hyperstone Heist for Genesis! Everyone always forgets that one...

    Tournament Fighters rocked too.

Me and three friends found the old arcade machine at a Chucky Cheese recently. We all got a dollar in tokens, and went at it. The four of us beat it in like 15 minutes or something incredible like that without losing any lives. I honestly think the NES one is a lot harder.

Anyways... I agree. TMNT, TMNT 2, TMNT 3, TMNT 4, Hyperstone Heist, and Tournament Fighters (SNES), should all be put out as a collection. Konami could do it.

Edit: Throw in the trilogy for Game Boy too. :)

That's exactly the problem I had with part one. I would drive around for hours in that Turtlevan because I couldn't make the jump in one of the levels. I just thought we weren't supposed to enter that level yet and I had missed something. Eventually I just gave up. I don't think I knew anyone who actually got past that jump.

The Underwater level where you disarm the bombs took me some time to master also.

You need to get the rope, then there's no jumping involved. :)

In a certain sewer, you had to tap-jump very softly to get to the 1cm ledge away. ;)

When you were low on health, your attacks suddenly got a little stronger

    Shredder's gun was instant death

I still haven't beaten Desann on hardest level

The closing walls of the second last level before the robo dino boss was nail-biting . . .

The the dinos of the last level were terrifying to get through, especially if the effing Technodrone door didn't appear

Donatello was the best Turtle for his reach and strength; the rest had short range weapons

You were always scrolling back and forth so the screen gave you less irritating monsters

Shredder's hand stuck out of the TV . . . funny

I found a recipe in Shadow of Amn's Asylumn for mokney balls . . .

We never did beat this bugger of a Shredder after all those years

2ndQuest is right: Turtles Arcade requires a lot of right-scrolling moving . . . your thumb

I can tell you where to stuff his triple turtle-zapping lightning if you want

The first one is the first console game I played...my babysitter's son had it. Man I loved it, but it was freaking impossible (at least when I was 8).

I thought I was wicked cool when I discovered I could beat one of the bosses without being hit using Donatello's crouch attack.

Wouldn't there be a problem with the rights to the TMNT though? I thought that would only be Nintendo first party games like Mario.

Third party titles are possible, but would be up to the developer.

I never did beat the first game, though I did like it quite a bit. The game was just too friggin hard on certain parts (the water level being an obvious example). ;)

I loved the 2nd and 3rd games quite a bit though and beat both of them. TMNT 2 on the NES was based off of the classic arcade game that took more quarters from me as a child than I care to admit. If I ever saw that arcade game for sale, I'd probably buy it. It was that cool. Till the time that I actually do buy it, MAME.

TMNT as a whole was pretty sweet back in the day and I still like it now, more for nostalgia than anything else. I recently bought the first season of the original TMNT cartoons on DVD. Ah...the memories. :)

I own TMNT: The Arcade Game for the NES which was great to play on my NES but even better on the arcade. Also I liked that TMNT game where you could swin and if you touched the see-weed, it would kill you. Which one was that?

With the Nintendo Revolution these games should be downloadable.

...yeah, i think the original TMNT might've been the first game i played on the NES (at my friend's house. It was either TMNT, BATMAN or...*AHEM* *@@@@ING* BLADES....OF....STEEL :p)

It was bloody tough. I also made it up to that Turtlevan level, and no further.. I was a Donatello user.

The Arcade games are absolute classics (MAME is responsible for keeping my childhood memories alive!)

I was actually surprised by how much i enjoyed the original Gameboy TMNT game. I must've beaten that one about a hundred times, yet i never got bored of it. Being able to pick whichever Turtle you wanted for each level was always cool (i had my set turtle pattern for each level of the game)

It was funny, when me and a friend garbbed a used copy of TMNT a couple years ago and popped it in to play after not having played it in years, when we got to the overhead dam level, we were both like "Aw, crap- that seaweed level!" as it came back to us, hehe.

So I needed a rope to get across that impossible gap? Damn.

I really hope they release 1,2,3, and 4 again. Oh the hours of life it would take from me again. I'd be in heaven... [face_dancing]

The first TMNT game for the NES I think is a genuine classic, I absolutely loved it. It was ridiculously hard though, I think I remember getting inside the Technodrome once and maybe beating it, getting there was such a pain in the neck though.

The second was a good game too, can't remember much about three.

So, TMNT II and TMNT IV were both in arcades.

What about Manhattan Project and Hyperstone Heist?
