ST New Batch of Rumors from 4chan/Reddit ; "SpoilerMan Leak"

never been friendzoned? why MUST they become lovers? besides, isnt there a rule about jedis being involved in relationships? how did that turn out last time? i know theres not really a jedi order right now but for continuity sakes they would have to account for the destructive nature of a romantic relationship between 2 jedis.

 

How can R2 and 3P0 be the only comic relief when this other little droid seems to be so, too?

Can we discuss the alleged "Luke reveal" in Act III?

Because I for one don't want any Luke reveal at all other than his appearance in the film in Act II.

 

so for the last 4-5 pages, all people have been doing is trying to debunk the thread.
Of course it's most likely BS, but it doesn't hurt to have a bit of fun, it's not like there's any new info.

 

It's like they took criticism of the EU and baked it into the setting.

Anyway, my main problem with these rumors is the crossguard Sith:

1) If Adam Driver's transformation from pilot to Sith (based solely on a blurry picture of a guy in a pilot suit that had hair similar to his) takes place slowly, how do we get to full-on facemask and red lightsaber by the second act of the film? (I assume they're not going to show us scenes from the third act in the teaser.)

2) The crossguard Sith makes much more sense as MVS's character as described here than Driver's character. Wears a cloak? Check. Covered face? Check. Carrying weird artifact-like object? Check.

Think about it. Do you really think they would put TWO cloaked Sith with cyborg faces in the film, AND have one be the result of a "slow" fall to the Dark Side that somehow takes place entirely in the second act of the film (assuming the first act takes place on Tatooine, so we don't even meet any Rebel pilots until then)?

 

Luke reveal maybe Darth Luke. Or the "appearance" of a Darth Luke.

Combining other rumours makes me think Serkis does not last. Driver is main villain by the end.

Understanding bad writing, makes the Serkis as 'power behind Palpatines throne' seem believable... But rubbish

Honestly I think this is mostly bs. It just sounds like taking all the rumors and info already out there and slapping them together into a plausible but totally unsubstantiated plot. The person is talking not like someone who worked on set and saw some things, but like someone who somehow read the entire script, saw the entire movie and was there as the entire thing being filmed, and I don't think anyone who is anywhere near that high up in the production would decide to go anonymously spoil stuff on 4chan of all places.

This is like the whole "I Have an uncle who works at Nintendo and he says..." nonsense that kids used to pull on the playground back in the day.

 

The Chan/Reddit leak on page 1 fails to mention one major 'alleged' plot element...

Adam Driver's character is Han and Leia's son. I didn't see that mentioned. Kind of a big thing to miss out!

(I haven't read all 13 pages so if it's been updated to confirm Driver is Han's son, whoops!)

The leaks sound interesting. It's not a concern or anything, just something I noticed. You could argue the best plots in films are the ones that are fairly simple. SW 1977 had a lovely simple plot. I just wonder if there are too many characters in the alleged plot of Ep 7. It might be they're overcooking the plot with lots of characters in order to flesh out the story for three episodes - that's over six hours of screentime. But perhaps some of the characters won't have major roles. Just pop up every now and again.

I kind of wish Max Von Sydow is playing one of the original Inquistors. He escaped their fall before Ep 4, he was dormant and he awakens with the (dark side) of the force. That would be cool! I am Darth Sydow!

 

Now I wonder why nobody noticed the most ridiculous claim in this "leak":
Carrie Fischer's real life daughter, Billie Lourd, plays Leia in a flashback sequence. Darth Vader appears in this flashback as well, which apparently takes place on Endor.

Now try to explain how Leia would meet Vader on Endor??? F A K E!!!

I think this might whole thing might be a counter-measure by JJ, because a lot of the recent leaks were confirmed by the teaser...

Oh and just for the fun of it, the PT character that became MvS cyborg is Clieeg Lars for sure, after all he was already missing a leg in AotC and is the Stepdad of Vader, just imagine him telling Ridley (if she is a Solo): " I am your Uncle's Father's Stepfather..."

Well heck, if 4chan can be the place to find nice nudie pics of celebrities who fell victim to the iCloud, it can be the source of SOME valid info pertaining to the next Star Wars movie. Go logic!

To be fair, if Boba Fett spent the next 30 years on Tatooine his accent would pick up cues from the local accent. Although, this didn't seem to affect Obi-Wan or pretty much most characters in AGFFA for some reason, unless all the frequent space-traveling accounts for most characters and if Obi-Wan actually wasn't always on Tatooine during that time. One of my closest friends from college is as Midwest as you can get and moved to New Zealand ten years ago. He hasn't lost his aww shucks golly accent completely, but it's definitely slipped into a New Zealander-Midwest hybrid of some kind. Then again, I can't explain Shmi's accent, but maybe her time with Gardulla and then Watto was only a few years or months even. Luke, Anakin, Kitster, that pudgy girl, Biggs, those other two pals, the Cantina dude, Owen and Beru all share the same what I figure is the dominant accent in Tatooine. Plus Sydow is an actor and could always alter his own voice towards the accent that Tem altered his towards. I'm not saying he's Boba Fett, I actually don't think so too. Also, if the character is a cyborg, which includes his face, his voice could very well be altered anyways to be something closer to Sydow's voice. Grievous, Vader.

 

any ideas who Von Sydow character might be?

 

Bazinga'd Your screenname made me realize that a Big Bang Theory episode in the not-too-distant future might have Sheldon and company discussing the trailer

 

Not that I think it is accurate, but I could picture how this could work, and it would REALLY darken the ending of Jedi and set up the rumored state of chaos that is appearing to be accurate, at least.

 

Throw out what the EU taught you. Boba delivering Han to Jabba wasn't personal, it was just another job. Yeah, he ended up in the pit, but he may not even know that it was Han who hit him and it may not have actually been all that hard for him to escape it either ("Okay, I've got Sarlaac juice on me, but it sure beats being blown to smithereens like most of the people on Jabba's barge.")

Another important point too... is if what Spoilerman is saying is true, then Daisy may not have actually told Boba what her true identity was. He may have just thought he was helping out a random girl curious about the Force or history or whatever. If he ends up being rescued by Han along with Daisy and John it could certainly add a delightful irony to the whole thing if we learn that our old cyborg collector is actually Boba Fett.

That said, I do think that even if they are true, these spoilers are coming second-hand (i.e. the person who wrote them up in the OP was not the person who read the script... he was writing what he heard from the person who HAD read the script). Certain elements have the feel of 'transcription errors' where whoever was typing it up misunderstood what the person with the actual information was saying (ex. Driver is just in a mask while his master has the half-machine face... the 'junk' saber IS the one he is given by or learns to build from his master). I definitely feel as if the broad strokes are right even if some of the details are a bit different (my suspicion is that Driver doesn't actually start good and become evil over the course of the film... as the OP transcribed rather I suspect what his source was trying to say is that Driver is first presented as a good guy, but over the course of the movie will be revealed to have been a villain all along (which, if he is first presented as the dutiful and loyal son of Han and Leia would be a lovely narrative mirror to Daisy's end of act one reveal that she's not a random street rat but the rebellious daughter of Han and Leia).

 

I think there is a way to explain the Inquisitors. You'd need a flashback showing their origin and then another flashback showing them chasing after the Jedi and another one (!) showing their fall or exile prior to the Rebellion getting the plans to the Death Star. In theory, it could, perhaps, work. You'd also need to rename the episode
