STAR WARS The Mandalorian SPOILERS!

 

Its been quite a few hours now and there is still no new main thread (on the main home page) titled Star Wars Television: The Mandalorian; well not that I could see anyway. We now have photos (courtesy of Making Star Wars) and a bit of information about the series, but still no main thread to put all of our sub-threads into and start discussing this exciting television series.

Any chance mods for this to have its own main thread in the main home page? I humbly apologize though if one already exists and I have not seen it.

$100 million budget for 10 episodes .....surely a movie would be more profitable ?

Maybe they think it will draw a lot of subscribers to their new streaming service and they will probably sell the season on blu-ray and digital download as well.

 

I think your right - it's basically a big investment to bring something huge to draw in a big number of subscribers - I'll probably wait for the blu-ray myself although tempted to sign up as well

 

I don’t believe you. You’ll subscribe on day one, and you know it. No way you’ll wait almost a year for it to be released on Blu-Ray.

For me it's even easier to wait given how much material has been released under Disney already. The new stuff doesn't really carry the same "event" status. I had no trouble skipping Solo theatrically. I most likely will never watch anything tied to a monthly streaming fee.

My cable provider doesn't carry the Disney channel. I might have to get the streaming service for The Resistance. I'm not super interested in the mandalorian. I'm sure I'll watch it though.

All kidding aside, I would've preferred a 'Guardian of the Whills on Jedha trying to protect the kyber crystals' series - but that's just me.
