New Collecting Forum Banner *Official Thread*

Well, MJF beat me to posting a MS topic, so that part is done, now we just need the head image guy (I think it's GtG now) to come along and give us the all clear and we can probably get this thing started up sometime next week!

 

Sweet. I haven't entered a contest in a long time. Perhaps now is the time.

 

The contest will run for a couple weeks right? because I'll be gone a for a few days next week

 

We haven't set an exact length of time yet for the contest, but yeah, it will probably run for at least two or three weeks I'd think.

OBIX1 I totally respect your idea, but I hope you don't use Dexter's Diner. That's the EXACT same concept that was used in the Jedi Council Community forum. It's been changed for a couple of months now.

This thread needs something original....and colorful I might add. Put in some aliens, droids, and more classic characters. Maybe like a black space backdrop and a silver board. Of course, use at least some toys in the banner. Maybe even incorporate things that we've talked lots about in this forum, like TEH Gunship, Even Piell, Yarael Poof, Ephant Mon......things that hold significance for us posters of this board.

 

That's a really good point.I forgot about it being in the JCC while back.antoher idea I had was to use the hands holding the lightsaber (like on the saga packages) in the banner somewhere

Maybe we can make this board look like the gold Saga packaging. It would be a dark blue backdrop with light blue board, and we could add collectables into it.

Instead of reading "Attack of the Clones" or "A New Hope" on the gold bar, it could read "Collecting". That would be so cool!

BTW I hope somebody feels free to take these ideas into account......I don't care if you steal them...that's what I put them up for.

 

I'm not personally going to post too many ideas here as I want to let people be original and come up with their own ideas, but putting a Mara Jade and/or Yarael Poof figure in your banner couldn't hurt...

It's there, I remember seeing a preview of this banner last time, but in order for you to see the Gunship just now, you need to have a really, really big monitor.

 

Ok, I realy want to make a banner to send in, but how do I fit like the measurements and stuff. Also, do I choose the forum colors? anyway, I'll just start on finding pics right now. I got a few great ideas.

 

You need to know how to make them on something like Photoshop, I don't know how to do it

 

MJF's first banner contest thread has the image sizes I belive, and yes, you can include your own colour scheme to match if you'd like, but I do think the MS occasionally tweaks them a bit if need be.

And of course if you don't want to pick colours the MS can whip something up for you, I think Kadue did these for the last banner contest winner if I remember correctly.

 

Since we can't comment in the voting thread, I want to say "Excellent job everyone!" There is a GREAT variety of banners to choose from!

MJF, when does the voting finish?

 

Phooey. "H" is pretty darn cool, but if it wins (which it looks like it's going to), can its creator like actually create a background image? It kind of sucks just having the entire right side of the banner blank (not to mention that the blank background image doens't even match the entire background for the left side of the banner... They're different shades of blue).


To fix it, just use the eyedropper tool in Photoshop when you want to match colors, Gita

 

I like H too, but (everything Sithman said) and also some pics down the side.
