Not 100% sure this is the correct place to ask but dose anyone now how many jedi were in lukes order as of the LOTF series starting? it sounds like many more than during the Dark Nest Crisis.

I think it's three or four hundred.

Not bad, considering they were down to fifty at the end of the NJO.

At the end of the NJO, they had 50 Masters/Knights, plus possibly as many as a hundred students. As of Dark Nest, they had a couple hundred Masters, Knights, and students all together. Now, some of that growth may have come from promoting a lot of those students over the next five years, plus recruiting heavily -- those couple hundred Jedi could have broken down into twenty Masters, eighty Knights, and two hundred students -- so it's not a given that same rate of growth would hold up. Still, I don't think there are hard numbers given during LOTF, except perhaps that there are still several hundred. I'd expect a Jedi Order at or approaching five hundred Jedi, but there's really no way to reliably break that down into full Knights vs. students.

Based on comments in the Dark Nest Trilogy, I have a hunch that the New Jedi Order still leans very heavily in favor of apprentices. Afterall, Luke seems to have multiple, Hogwarts-esque classes at the academy on Ossus.

By the time of FOTJ, I can see the number of fully trained Knights being larger, but for whatever reason Luke's order still has a very finite number of Jedi Masters. As far as I can tell, there are no confirmed Masters outside the 12 that sit on the Council.

Man, once they get this PR nightmare that Daala has conjured up figured out they need to do a couple things... actively make house visits to households they actually sense a Force-sensitive in like Professor X, and start getting flyers out there for Jedi boarding school.

It's kind of weird though, suddenly it seems like all the apprentices are children. You'd thin Luke would still be recruiting adults, and perhaps fast tracking them to Knigthood. I'd think that the vast majority of the teaching he'd be doing of children would be culturing them to the Jedi Order rather than really grooming them to be Knights. If you start with a 10 year old it's obvious from Luke's training and the training of the earlier waves of his students that you don't need to spend all that much time bringing someone up to Knighthood levels. They are in dire enough straits even at 500 total Jedi Masters, Knights and padawans/apprentices and younglings that the'd darn well better be continuing the super-intensive courses with older candidates.

As of Dark Nest, there were three hundred Jedi - including apprentices, per Swarm War. By Inferno there are 'hundreds' of younglings at Ossus. The Jedi quite easily put together their atypical 72 Jedi wing, even despite losing more than a quarter of that number at Kashyyyk. We lose probably a dozen Jedi in mentions or off-screen i.e. Nelani, Tresina, etc. So we probably lose quite a few Jedi, considering the war doesn't really last more than a year.

So there are seemingly around a hundred Jedi Knights, if these numbers reflect anything, and of course still a dozen Masters. So it's a quite large number, though the majority are still apprentices and younglings. There will probably, all of a sudden, be hundreds of Jedi Knights active in the galaxy.

Considering there was only Lumiya, Caedus, Aurra Sing, Ship, Vectivus and Alema Rar active against the Jedi - that's quite a sum for a few darksiders. Though I have no doubt that the One Sith chipped in and took out a few Jedi behind the scenes.

Speaking of the lack of Jedi Masters, I can think of four experienced Jedi Knights who may be masters by this point:

    Daye Azur-Jamin
    Madurrin
    Markre Medjev
    Cheklev

Four experienced Knights as of 29 ABY. Seeing as nearly 14 years have passed, I fully expect them all to be Jedi Masters.

    Does Vectivus really count?
