Decided that I needed to keep track of the food that I'm eating. Maybe it'll make me stop snacking and stuff. Anyways I downloaded this program called Cron-O-Meter. Anyone use anything else to track nutritional intake and exercise???

THe only thing I use to gauge my exercise and eating is my pants. If I can get them buttoned with little trouble, I do nothing. ;)

Not the best method, I must confess. :D

I must have burned umpteen calories moving the furniture around and pulling the Bean in her sled. I am bushed!

Ooo... playing in the snow. Always a great way to work out :) Bet Bean had fun!

I also found a neat thing that links with twitter, it's called Tweet what you eat. Handy program if you use twitter a lot.

chewed them up, spit them out, ran over them 16 times with a front end loader, scooped them up, and tossed them in the Bessemer ditch.

    Terrible.

I'm at my highest weight, except for the time right after I had just finished my PhD thesis, which involved sitting on my ass all day typing with a bowl of chocolate covered cherries at hand, for a month. I'm not quite to that level yet, but it's not that far off.

Sad thing is, I have no motivation, other than to whine about it. I'm not getting exercise. The couple of attempts I made at dieting lately (hand-wavy South Beach) were total failure - even when I was on the diet, I saw no change. And if I'm not making progress, I lose all motivation to stay on the diet.

    :(

i do have motivation, however I have been sick forever it seems. i woke up totally congested again and i can't breath so well it seems.

I have a wedding in july, not mine just going to. ;) starfest and OF course August CV and the BEACH...so I need to get to it. now if i could JUST get healthy enough to get to it again. i would LOVE to be able to start running again.

I am not doing that bad, actually. I have tried yet again to focus on portion control and am getting a ton of exercise both at work and at home. Everytime I think of it I do stretches behind the counter and basically just try to keep moving. Not only does it help keep me warm, but it helps to keep the blood flowing.

I have lost almost ten pounds since the first of the year.

Congrats, Mac. That's truly wonderful. You've been working really hard, so it's good that it is going to well.

I've been on my new diet (low carb Atkins) for 2 weeks now. In that time I've lost a grand total of 3 lbs. Only. I know that's probably a regular rate for long term dieting, but I was hoping the beginning would be a little faster. And it's a pretty strict diet, so I wish there were more payoff. I've gotten some exercise in - walking and hiking - a few times, but not often enough.

I've set up a series of goals. I have an overall goal, and then 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 way goals. That way I can have middle milestones to aim for. I'm really hoping to hit the 1/4 point by Starfest if possible.

Hey T...i did atkins for two yrs...back in nashville...Yes it works, but i will tell you, it is why i have health issues now. if i were you i would check out south beach..i did it when i first moved to denver and it really works and you don't have to limit yourself so much. just some words of caution...it really messed me up.

AS for my weight...UGH, i gained a few pounds this week...stress and stuff...and I am sickened by it. I am going to go and hit the gym tonite. at least do some weights...i want to drop 15 before starfest...i just need to do it. i feel like a blob. so yah...i swore i would never let myself get back up in weight...not even close to my previous HUGE weight, but i don't even want to get there.

Nnay- Ive done the soth beach before. A couple of years ago I had decent luck with it. However, when I tried it again earlier this winter, it had NO effect on me. I was on it for a couple weeks and didn't lose a single pound. Either I wasn't being good enough about it, or for some reason it isn't the right one for results for me right now. I figured I needed to try something more stringent, hence the atkins- which I'd lost some weight on befor soth beach. I'm certainly don't like it so I'm hoping to start losing on it and for tha latter parts switch to something else.
