Preordered a few weeks ago and I'm hoping to start listening to the audiobook at school on Tuesday. Can't wait!
Maul vs ZOMBIES?!! I'm in! I really hope that's what this will be about. But so far, this seems more like Plagueis and not Death Troopers.

Don't forget the Wampa, Gorefiend. Stopped at the Limerge Chapter... My guess on the weapons dealer? Spoiler The Mute brother.
The little of Plagueis that's in this Novel, is fantastic... Was pleasantly surprised to see Spoiler The Bith Sith Lord, Darth Venamis getting killed and revived again.
Finished it last night... turned the last Nook-page, was expecting more. Spoiler If Darth Vader is the fist of Palpatine, then this story makes it clear: Darth Maul is his teethe...
I'm looking forward to this book but I am kind of nervous. With all this EU writers club deciding whats going to be in and out, we got no gurantee were this story along with others will lie
It seems the author is a fan of the actor Gabriel Byrne. I'm not even a third into the book and there are already references to two of his movies, The Usual Suspects and Miller's Crossing.
The only upsetting thing about the whole canon issue is that certain characters may never be written or seen again. I mean I knew Cade in Legacy war was an "ending"...but now at the prospect of never seeing that character or any of the rest of the legacy cast is kinda sad. But you can always go back and experience their journeys again. They aren't going to storm through your house and burn copies of Maul: Lockdown....
Don't be too sure. The Mouse has been installing self-destruct devices inside the covers of all new books. But don't try to find it. It'll automatically combust if you do that.
UPS delivered my copy today. Bless him since he was out delevering in the snow If they did an alternate universe, would we have a chance of seeing them again?
http://shelf-life.ew.com/2014/01/29...lockdown-maul-featuring-darth-maul-exclusive/ This is pretty awesome. An excerpt from the book as read by Sam Witwer, using his Palpatine, Maul and other voices. He's become quite the competent voice actor.
They had Catherine Taber read from Razor's Edge and James Arnold Taylor read from Kenobi too. They should have Sam Witwer read the entire audio book.
A couple of points... Is it me, or did Darth Plagueis Spoiler seem to be on two planets at once? He goes from Sojourn to Coruscant and back, like I flipped from page eight to nine. I also found it... odd, that Vesto Slipher Spoiler would know the Zabrak inmate by the name of Maul. Especially when he answers to Magister Damask and not Darth Plagueis. Thoroughly enjoyed Spoiler Komari Vosa... and still not sure why.
Well, with a Yuuzhan Vong being one of Maul's opponents, in the opening chapter no less, I'd say a Noghri is a little bit lower on the continuity jam totem pole. The excuse is, it's a prison and no one knows where these things come from, it's practically a get-out-of-continuity-jam-free card. And I'm sure the prisoners make up weird nicknames for their drinks, as well.
Are most Zabrak soft-voiced? Witwer as Maul uses one, and Bao Dur's voice was similar. Savage would problably be the biggest exception here, even when he was average-sized.
