Hmm....well I did enjoy Droids, if it stays near that level and doesn't get too childish. If it's somewhat like Tag & Bink, that would be very cool.

Do we know if this will be another 3D animated show like TCW or if it will be traditional 2D animation like CW microseries or Droids? I'd actually like to see a new 2D show...

Hopefully this is the Squishies show that was rumored and not something separate... having 4 tv series out at the same time is overkill, and I would accept this more if it didn't have the Star Wars label on it

I think this could work if they stay away from the overtly moronic wacky antics and stay in the realm of realism (well, as realistic as Star Wars can be). Granted, my fav comedies are Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Arrested Development, so what do I know about what would be funny in SW?

[face_worried] Is this show supposed to be canon?

My biggest worry is that Hasbro will focus on this show the most in their line as they are doing with TCW. I'm fine with them focusing on TCW, since it is an awsome show, but as a collector I would hate to see actual SW figures being neglected for Jar Jar comedy figures. [face_sick]

I am sure that this is the "Squishies" series that had everyone in a uproar not to long agao. Think about it, it's going to be animated and it's comedy for all ages. The only new information that we know of is that Seth Green may have something to do with it. So all of this could just be additional info for "Squishies".

Hopefully, this is not the show aimed at pre schoolers, but rather, something aimed at the nitpicky fans like most of us.

Seth Green making a kids show sounds almost as disturbing as the episode of Sesame Street that had Jack Black on it.

Hopefully, this will kill any worries over Squishies.

I would imagine this is the so-called Squishies. I could see this show as being a little "wacky", but that doesn't mean Jar Jar style antics. As far as 2D or 3D, well, the Lucas Animation studios do 3D, so that's what I would expect.

I don't mind slapstick and goofiness, maybe combined with something like the humor in Phineas and Ferb could be worthwhile. I'm probably one of the few people who's not into the 'mature' satire/shock humor stuff of Family Guy, and I haven't seen Robot Chicken. Not much into that Adult Swim stuff.

Oh well, that's just fine because- wwwwwhhhhhaaaaat?

This is certainly unexpected. I'm guessing this is more a result of SW Robot Chicken's SW spoofing and Titan Maximum's success in telling comedic material within an original sci-fi setting (not to mention using most of the SW cast in the process ;) ) that they're going to bring it outside spoofing the films in skits like SW RC and into the realm of storytelling within the SW universe itself ala TM.

The 3 names attached are promising- Robot Chicken's spoofs have become a major part of the SW legacy (much as, say, The Simpsons was about 12-15 years ago), and The Daily Show is usually smart/dumb comedy that can juxtapose elements and reveal contradictions and perspectives to great comedic effect- something that would make an excellent launching point for what Robot Chicken usually does.

People keep citing Droids as a standard of success for a show like this.

Is anyone aware how long that show was on the air?

    Let's hope it's better.

Well, it looks like as time passes by the clone war cartoon series will become darker.

I still for some reason can't understand why would they go this route. GL said in 2005 that he would consider a KOTOR series if the stuff on tv is successful. Instead we're getting comedy. I like comedy don't get me wrong and liked both Family Guy and Robot Chickens star wars interpretations.

    But.....

As time passes by, it is becoming more and more apparent that GL will only work within his movies. Meaning the 6 movies, TFU video game (unknown about part 2), the clone war aniamted series, and the new live action will be his official version of star wars. What occurs, from the battle of Naboo to the official version of how the Rebellion was created (TFU) all the other stuff is just..........other stuff.

I also agree what the previous poster said that Hasbro will go for that line of toys, just like they are doing with the clone wars, and eventually the live action tv series.

I think it'll turn out alright, though I can understand the disappointment. I myself wanted a KOTOR series.

My only question is what exact details are implied by the term "all ages," You have the woman behind The Backyardigans, a pre-school show (that I particularly find amusing), then you have the guy behind Back at the Barnyard, which I like, then you have Seth Green, from adult swim fame. So, you have people who've worked on stuff for kids, teenagers, and adults. I wonder how that can work out.

I question the logic of creating an animated Star Wars show as a comedy. I know SW is a pop culture icon and all, but seriously, I don't think any other beloved franchise out there could conjure up enough material to sustain an entire season of a comedy show without losing the interest of the audience. Frankly, I'll be astonished if this show doesn't get cancelled faster than the Jay Leno Show did.

i would like a kinda show where each episode focuses on separate characters than the previous one, in the same vein that The Twilight Zone episodes focused on different characters each episode. However, the problem there is the comedy aspect. I would love that sort of Twilight Zone weekly serial feeling within the Star Wars universe, but that would be better for a serious drama, if you ask me. Not so much a comedy, unless we're dealing with sketch humor.

I find Seth Green more annoying than funny.

Seeing a Robot Chicken-esque SW comedy show every week will get old and fast.

The thing that makes a SW comedy funny (family guy and Robot chicken specials) is that they only come once in a while. To have one every week is just not a good idea, IMO.

Also, the beauty of robot chicken and family guy si that they were done by outsiders so they didn't need to pull their punches, whereas I can see Lucas being...hesitant... to really go after things like "little Annie" "Jar Jar" the "Ewoks" "hayden's bad acting" all that stuff.

And given that the family guy Empire Strikes wasn't really that funny I probably won't even check this out. I def. don't see enough humor to justify a weekly series... especially an entire half hour! Personally, I think they should just do online viral videos through starwars.com that could circulate online like SNL's digital shorts. But what do I know, I'm just a viewer.

I don't think this will be as bad as people think it's going to be.
However I don't think its gonna be something people are going to get into. Its either gonna be Teen Titans or Muppet Babies, which either way doesn't sound too appealing.

It always has been 'just other stuff'! [face_laugh]

The fundamental difference between 'pro fic' and 'fan fic' is one set of writers got paid.

The sooner you 'canon folks' understand that everything in Star Wars is 'from a certain point of view' the happier you'll be.

I for one can't wait to see what this new project bring! To each our own!

Now where did I put my Jar-Jar Colouring book...?
